IIM Nagpur Final Placement 2019: Average Salary Up at INR 12.35 LPA; Achieves Again 100% placement

IIM Nagpur has concluded final placement 2019 for its 3rd PGP batch 2017-19. Keeping intact its record of 100% placement, Placement 2019 has witnessed highest salary going up at Rs.20 lakhs from Rs.19 lakhs last year and average salary going up at Rs.12.35 lakhs from Rs.12.10 lakhs. Consulting, Analytics, E-commerce, FMCD, IT and Manufacturing recruited more than 70% students of the batch. Offers in Consulting sector increased by thirty-seven percent.

IIM Nagpur has concluded the final Placement 2019 for its third PGP batch 2017-19 after achieving 100% placement with higher salary packages. The Placement season 2019 at IIM Nagpur has witnessed its highest salary offer going up to Rs.20 lakhs from Rs.19 lakhs last year and the average salary going up to Rs.12.35 lakhs from Rs.12.10 lakhs last year.

The final placement process for IIM Nagpur witnessed 40+ recruiters, including many first-time participants, making a beeline to recruit the talent from the campus. The season saw participation from sectors like FMCD, Analytics, IT, Consulting, Logistics and others.

Releasing the IIM Nagpur final Placement 2019 report, IIM Nagpur, mentored by IIM Ahmedabad, has confirmed, “IIM Nagpur completed the final placement process for the third batch of students enrolled in its flagship Post Graduate Program in Management (PGP 2017-19).”

On the successful 100% Placement 2019, recording higher placement packages, Prof. L S Murty, Director, Indian Institute of Management Nagpur said, “I am happy that this year too our graduating batch found challenging careers openings of their choice from the campus. I am confident that the education and personality development that they experience during their study time here would go a long way in putting them in good stead in their future journey. I am also very appreciative of the industry for their continued trust in us; and assure them that with their continued support, we will only improve on our contextual relevance as we go forward”.

Consulting, followed by Analytics, Ecommerce, FMCD, IT and Manufacturing recruited more than seventy percent of the batch.

Key recruiters included Deloitte Consulting, ZS Associates, MuSigma, Berger Paints, V-Guard, Schindler, Sutherland Global, GroupM, Decimal Point Analytics, ValueLabs, JK Technosoft, FSS Global, Aspect Ratio Data among many others. This year also witnessed enthusiastic participation from start-ups like Moglix, Build Supply, Fortigo, Jigserv Digital making multiple offers in the campus.

Key Placement Trends
The highest domestic package offered was Rs.20 Lacs, and the average was Rs.12.35 Lacs. The average package offered for the top 10% and first quartile of the batch was Rs.17.48 Lacs and Rs.15.45 Lacs respectively, and the median package for the batch was Rs.12 Lacs.

Sales & Marketing, Consulting, and Analytics were the most sought-after roles, closely followed by Finance, and Operations, among students. Offers in Consulting sector increased by thirty-seven percent.

IIM Nagpur started functioning with the launch of its 1st PGP batch 2015-17 with a sanctioned intake of 60 students. For the 4th batch commencing 2019, IIM Nagpur has increased intake to 120 students after Hon’ble Minister of HRD, Government of India, Shri Prakash Javadekar has emphasized upon increasing the batch size in IIMs.

After passing of IIM Bill 2017, the Post Graduate Programme (PGP) in Management at IIM Nagpur will lead to award of MBA degree instead of diploma.

IIM Nagpur New Campus
At present, IIM Nagpur is located within the campus of VNIT Nagpur. The construction of its new 132 Acre campus has started on March 6, 2019 with the groundbreaking ceremony for the permanent campus by Hon’ble Chief Minister of Maharashtra Shri Devendra Fadnavis and Union Cabinet Minister Shri Nitin Gadkari, in the presence of Guardian Minister Shri Chandrashekhar Bawankule at MIHAN.

The ceremony has flagged off the first phase of the development of IIMN’s permanent campus at Dahegaon Mauza in MIHAN. The new campus is designed to cater to 600 students. The campus has been designed to minimise the environmental footprint while facilitating learning both inside and outside the classroom. Phase 1 has a built-up area of approximately 60,000 sq. Mtrs. IIM Nagpur new campus will include the construction of a state-of-the-art academic complex, library, administrative block, student hostels, sports complex, and residential quarters. The campus will also house a Management Development Centre for the institute’s Executive Education Programmes (EEP) and IIM Nagpur’s entrepreneurship incubation centre, InFED, in addition to allied infrastructure. The first phase is expected to be completed in 18 months.
