IIM Udaipur has released shortlist of candidates on February 6, 2020 for Common Admission Process (CAP) 2020. CAP is the final selection process and comprises Written Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI). IIM Udaipur will have large batch size of 325 students in MBA 2020-22. IIM Udaipur Admission 2020

IIM Udaipur has released the shortlist of candidates on February 6, 2020 for Common Admission Process (CAP).  CAP is the final selection process and comprises Written Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI). The process is common to 9 IIMs which are participating in CAP 2020 and is coordinated by IIM Ranchi.  

3000+ Shortlisted
More than 3000 candidates are shortlisted by IIM Udaipur for PI-WAT round as the institute has increased the intake to 325 students.  IIM Udaipur has awarded high weightage to CAT 2019 score and candidate’s profile. The final merit list will be prepared with a weightage of 55% to CAT 2019 exam score.

The candidates who are not shortlisted will receive the message after login from IIM Udaipur – ‘ We regret to inform you that you have not been shortlisted by any of the nine participating IIMs in the common admission process. Please make sure that you have entered the date of birth and email id as entered in the CAT application form.’

The MBA 2020-22 is the 10th batch at IIM Udaipur. The batch size will be of 325 students and the admission process is based on CAT 2019 score, shortlist for Personal Appearance (PA), conduct of common PI & WAT round for participating IIMs and final admission offer.

IIM Udaipur Shortlisting Criteria 2020
IIM Udaipur has shortlisted the candidates on the basis of CAT 2019 score, and other parameters for final selection round as under:

  • The shortlisting for final selection round in IIM Udaipur Admission Criteria awarded maximum weight to CAT 2019 score.
  • The candidate must have scored minimum sectional percentile of 80 in each of the three sections of CAT 2019 – Quantitative Aptitude' (QA), ‘Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning' (DILR) and ‘Verbal and Reading Comprehension' (VRC)
  • A candidate must have scored minimum overall percentile of 90 in CAT 2019
  • If the candidate does not score minimum prescribed percentile in CAT 2019, he/she will not be considered for shortlisting for final selection stage.
  • IIM Udaipur’s Admission Committee has decided the number of candidates who have been shortlisted for PA round on the basis of criteria prepared for each category
  • All the Candidates shortlisted for PA process have to attend both WAT and PI which is a common process for all the participating IIMs

IIM Udaipur Admission 2020 Cut Off  
IIM Udaipur Cutoff  has been liberalised for admission. Only the candidates above the minimum cut-offs in the CAT 2019 sectional percentile ranks, the overall percentile rank and obtaining a positive (greater than zero) raw score in all sections of CAT-2019 were considered for shortlisting for PI-WAT process:

 IIM Udaipur Fees

  • The total programme fees payable by PGP students of Resident Indian Category at IIM Udaipur is Rs 16,67,000/-.
  • The course fee includes Hostel accommodation, Mess charges, access to lectures, computer facilities, library etc. It also includes alumni fee 
  • Laptop computer, text books, Insurance, personal expenses on  travel, clothes and laundry are extra.
  • The total programme fees for the 2020-2022 batch may increase further

IIM Udaipur Intake: 325 Students
IIM Udaipur MBA 2020-22 batch size has been increased to 325 students as against 260 students last year.

IIM Udaipur Offers MBA Degree
After implementation of IIM Act 2017, IIM Udaipur will award MBA degree to its PGP 2020-22 batch. The two-year Post-graduate Programme in Management (PGP) at IIM Udaipur is now renamed as Master of Business Administration (MBA). It is a full-time residential course for graduates from all disciplines who wish to choose a career in management. The MBA Programme at IIM Udaipur is highly ranked one.

According to IIM Udaipur, “The Program lasts two years over six terms with a compulsory Internship at the end of the 1st year. Students earn an MBA degree.”

IIMU: Focus on Global Perspective
60% students at IIM Udaipur take advantage of one of the many options to study or work abroad for periods ranging from two weeks to three months during the course of their two year PGP program. The international exposure increases their understanding of the impact of cultural values and widens their personal and intellectual horizons. The opportunities include International Corporate Internship, International Business in Practice (IBP) and Student Exchange Program

IIM Udaipur Placements
IIM Udaipur final placement 2019 had concluded with high packages. Highest domestic salary in placement 2019 shot up at Rs.27.50 lakhs from Rs.19.5 lakhs last year. Average salary has also recorded upward trend and has gone up at Rs.13.20 Lakhs from Rs. 13.16 lakhs. Four international companies have recruited nine students in placement 2019. The highest international offer has stood at Rs.33 LPA

Despite the dip in highest international salary from Rs.53 LPA to Rs.33 LPA this year, the overall average salary has gone up, narrowing the gap between highest and average compensation gap. IIM Udaipur has seen more first time recruiters and more placement offers to its students.

The placement season 2019 at IIM Udaipur was marked with grand success with Domestic and international offers being made by 78 recruiters to 205 students of the Institute. Out of the batch size of 223 students, 18 students did not seek placement at IIM Udaipur this year.

IIM Udaipur Admission Criteria 2020 consist of  Eligibility for shortlisting and Personal Appearance (PA) Process – the Final Selection round

IIM Udaipur Admission Eligibility

  1. IIM  Udaipur Eligibility criteria require that the candidate must hold a bachelor's degree of minimum 3 years duration after class 12, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA (in case of the candidate belonging to SC/ST/PwD category, the eligibility criterion is relaxed to 45%
  2. One of the most important points in IIM Udaipur Admission Eligibility criteria is that apart from a recognized graduate degree, the candidate should appear in CAT 2019 exam and must score minimum prescribed sectional and overall score to be considered for shortlisting
  3. If the candidate is awarded grades/CGPA instead of marks, the equivalence to determine PGP admission eligibility would be based on the equivalence certified by the institution/university from where the bachelor's degree is obtained. In case the institution/university does not have any scheme for converting the CGPA into equivalent marks, the equivalence would be established by IIM Udaipur by dividing the obtained CGPA by the maximum possible CGPA and multiplying the resultant by 100 to confirm the Admission eligibility of the candidate. 
  4. A candidate appearing for the final year bachelor's degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed the degree requirements and are awaiting results is also eligible to apply for IIM Udaipur Admission 2020. Such a candidate must produce a certificate from the principal/head of the department/ registrar/director of the institution/university certifying that the candidate is currently in the final year or is awaiting final results and has obtained at least 50% marks or equivalent (45% in case of the candidate belonging to SC/ST/PwD category) based on latest available grades/marks.
  5. IIM Udaipur Eligibility further clarifies that such a candidate, if selected, will not be eligible for the IIM Indore admission unless he/she submits a certificate latest by June 30, 2020 from the principal/head of the department/registrar/director of the institution/university (issued on or before June 30, 2020) stating that they have completed all the requirements (the result may, however, be awaited) for obtaining the bachelor's degree/equivalent qualification on the date of issue of the certificate.
  6. It is mandatory for a final year student, who is provisionally considered eligible by IIM Udaipur and offered admission, to submit the mark-sheet and degree certificate of the final year bachelor's degree examination held on or before June 30, 2020.  The deadline to submit the mark-sheet and the certificate is December 31, 2020. 

Final Admission Selection Round Criteria: PA process

  • All the shortlisted candidates should participate in Personal Appearance (PA) round for admission to IIM Udaipur
  • Final Selection Round for IIM Udaipur Admission consists of Personal Interview (PI) and Writing Ability Test (WAT)
  • The final selection PA round for IIM Udaipur Admission will be common for the IIMs who are participating in the Common Admission Process (CAP) 2020. IIM Ranchi is coordinating CAP 2020.
  • The scores obtained by the candidate in WAT & PI of CAP 2020 would be considered for preparing the merit list
  • IIM Udaipur selection criteria after final admission round award 55% weight to CAT 2019  Score; 15% weight to Personal Interview(PI); 6% weight to Writing Ability Test (WAT); 10% Weight to Academic profile; 6% Weight to Work Experience and 8% weight to Diversity.
  • Candidates who do not obtain certain minimum scores in the WAT & PI will not be considered for the merit list. The minimum scores will be decided by IIM Udaipur at its discretion.

IIM Udaipur Admission Process
Following steps are included in the IIM Udaipur Admission process:

  • Step 1: The candidate must have appeared and scored the minimum required sectional and overall percentile in CAT 2019 to be considered for Shortlisting process for admission at IIM Udaipur. Category wise short-lists of the candidates are prepared for Personal Interview (PI) and Written Ability Test (WAT) from among the candidates who have a valid CAT-2019 score, who have applied to the programme and who satisfy the eligibility criteria for the programme of IIM Udaipur.
  • Step 2: Shortlisted Candidates have to attend Common Admission Process (CAP) 2020 for the participating IIMs. CAP 2020 will consist of  both PI & WAT round in final selection process. Candidates not meeting the minimum performance in PI & WAT will not be considered for the final selection.
  • Step 3: After the WAT & PI round, admission offers are made by IIM Udaipur to successful candidates. The final selection is based on a diverse set of attributes which includes performance in CAT, performance in WAT & PI, academics, work experience, diversity among others. Category wise merit list will be generated based on weightages awarded to various components.  
  • Step 4: Final Admission Offer will be made to the candidates in the last week of April 2020 on the basis of Final Merit Score and will be available on IIM Udaipur website. 
  • Step 5: Candidates receiving admission offer from IIM Udaipur will need to send the acceptance within the stipulated date along with an Offer Acceptance amount of Rs.75,000/-.

Internships at IIM Udaipur

  • After completing the first year of studies, students at IIM Udaipur undertake a mandatory internship- either an experiential learning opportunity at a company location or an opportunity to develop their own entrepreneurial project.
  • Corporate internships can take place either in India or internationally in locations that have included Dubai, Qatar, London and Malaysia. It is a chance to apply the academic theories and concepts they have learned to real issues faced by organizations.
  • The International Business in Practice course is a unique second year elective that gives more than one third of the students the chance to work for two weeks on a live business problem in a company in another South Asian country or the Middle East.
  • PGP's compulsory Rural Immersion requires the students spending a week in a village where they work closely with NGOs to appreciate on-the-ground realities and challenges faced by those at the bottom of the pyramid.
