Top 3 IIMs, ISB, SPJIMR amongst Top 200 B-schools in QS Global MBA Rankings 2020; 5 IIMs, TAPMI in Masters Rankings
Top Indian B-schools including IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore, IIM Calcutta, ISB Hyderabad, SPJIMR Mumbai are Ranked among top global management institutes in QS Global MBA Rankings 2020 while 5 IIMs and TAPMI have been ranked amongst Top Masters Programs in the world. IIM-A, IIM-B are among top 50 B-schools in the world followed by ISB among top 100. IIM-I, IIM-U, TAPMI participated for the first time in the Masters in Management Rankings.
Five top B-Schools of India namely IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore, ISB, IIM Calcutta, SPJIMR Mumbai have been ranked amongst Top 200 B-schools in the World in the recently released QS Global Full-Time MBA Rankings 2020. Wharton, Stanford, INSEAD are ranked amongst top 3 Global MBA Programs. In another ranking category ‘QS Management Masters Rankings’, 5 IIMs and TAPMI have been ranked amongst Top Masters Programs in the world.
Global Full-Time MBA Rankings 2020
The rankings cover the one-year MBA programmes offered by the top B–schools to the candidates with work experience. This ranking does not cover the full-time two-year MBA programmes offered in India to fresh graduates.
IIM Ahmedabad has secured 40th place, climbing 8 places this year from 48th rank last year and retains its top position in India. IIM Bangalore has improved by 27 spots and has secured 44th rank in 2020 as against 71 in 2019. ISB has moved up at 98 rank this year as against 100 last year. IIM Calcutta and SPJIMR Mumbai have also improved their ranks and are among the 101-110 and 151-200 rank bands this year.
On securing higher ranking position, IIM Bangalore Director, Prof. G. Raghuram said “The QS rankings prove that the various initiatives that we have undertaken at IIM Bangalore, in terms of graduate employability, entrepreneurship and alumni outcomes, and thought leadership are in the right direction.”
SPJIMR Mumbai has been one of the five Indian institutes in the QS global top 230 B-schools for four years running. This year, SPJIMR has moved into the top 200. This, according to Dr Ranjan Banerjee, Dean SPJIMR Mumbai, has been achieved because of an improvement in position in the areas of return on investment and thought leadership.
According to Dr. Banerjee, the key strengths of SPJIMR, that contributed to this achievement, are “A high degree of industry integration, currency and quality of teaching, a faculty recruitment model that attracts both experienced practitioners and energetic young researchers, a strong focus on applied research and thought leadership, a core strength in value based education and experiential learning with a focus on educating the whole human being”
