Shri Narendra Modi, Hon’ble Prime Minister of India addressed the joint graduation and Convocation ceremony of ISB Hyderabad and Mohali of the PGP class 2022 and asked the students to link their personal goals with the nation's goals to build an Aatmanirbhar Bharat while leaving the campus. Addressing the students he said “The World Knows that India Means Business today. Management Colleges like ISB, and your students, should contribute towards the rise of India on a global stage.”

Addressing the convocation programme and 20th year celebrations of the Indian School of Business (ISB) in Hyderabad on May 24, the Prime Minister shared the tips to graduating students for making business policies and follow the mantra of ‘Reform, Perform and Transform’ in the career path and said that as the country is marching on its economic growth, small and medium businesses should get bigger platforms and should be equipped with advanced technology and added "It's here that graduates of those like ISB become very important."

Wishing a well crafted career to the ISB graduates, the Prime Minister added  "To make India future-ready, we have to ensure that India becomes self-reliant. All you business professionals have a big role in this. And this will be a good example for you in a way to serve the country."  

Citing examples of the Aspirational Districts and Aspirational Blocks initiatives of the government, Mr Modi advised the students to look into how policy decisions of the government could help them in formulating business policies, and in making management decisions. Applauding the ISB graduates, the Prime Minister said that ISB graduates are strengthening global businesses and many of them have launched startups.

The Prime Minister Mr Modi recalled that ISB was established in 2001 when former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee dedicated this B-school to the country and said, "Since then till today, about 50 thousand executives have left after being trained from here.”

Highlighting India’s economic and technological growth despite Covid pandemic, the Prime Minister said, “Today, India is the fastest-growing economy among the G-20 nations. In terms of smartphone data consumption, it stands first. In terms of Internet users, it is second. India also ranks second in the world on the Global Retail Index. The world's third-largest startup ecosystem is in India. The world's third-largest consumer market is in India."

On the occasion the Prime Minister also rewarded exceptionally performing graduates with medals. ISB is graduating its Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGP) Class of 2022 at the Hyderabad and Mohali campuses. The function will see 928 students from the PGP Class of 2022 receiving their graduation certificates. 

The ISB alumni network now grows to 13,500+ with a presence in more than 60 countries. The graduation functions also showcase the accomplishments of students, with those who excel in academics and extra-curricular activities, and those who have demonstrated exemplary leadership skills throughout the year. ISB  graduating class has performed exceedingly well during their placements, receiving 2066 offers, the highest number of offers ever received on campus.
