Many MBA aspirants complained of glitches in the timers during the first slot of MAH CET exam held on Saturday March 25, 2023 which, according to them, gave undue advantage to students who got extra time. Also due to these time glitches, the slot 2 of MAH MBA CET started late. DTE Maharashtra CET Cell had set up an inquiry to look into these complaints for both the slots of MAH MBA/MMS-CET 2023 held on March 25. Many students demanded re-examination. As such Cet Cell has announced to conduct re exam.

Reported Glitches and Complaints by MAH CET 2023 Test Takers
Several MAH CET 2023 test takers had reported following glitches and had complained to CET CELL

  • The timer in the same exam centre was set for different times.
  • MAH CET was of 150 minutes exam, but on some of the computer terminals, the timer was set for 180 minutes. This gave some students 30 minutes extra, which very crucial in a competitive exam
  • The computer server was also down at one of the centres in Amravati and no extra time was given to test takers.
  • Some students got logged out and they had to log in again, losing time in the process
  • One of the test takers who appeared in MAH CET for the second time, pointed out that due to the delays in the first slot, the exam in the second slot started late evening instead of at 2 PM in a few centres in the state
  • By the evening hours, the questions and the solution sets were already available online and these test takers also got an unfair advantage
  • It has also been reported that at a centre in Nagpur the 2nd slot exam started after 9 PM on March 25.
  • If these complaints are true, many meritorious students who aspire to get seats in the top colleges such as JBIMS, SIMSREE, PUMBA and others, may lose admission opportunity.

Students’ Demand for Re-Test of MAH CET 2023

  • CET Cell should conduct Re-Test to bring parity among the test takers as many candidates were favoured by giving 30 minutes extra time
  • As due to late start of 2nd slot after online availability of questions & solutions, impact on Merit List is inevitable.
  • This would affect the admissions adversely. So, at the affected test centres the MAHCET for both the March 25 slots should be conducted again

Action Taken by DTE Maharashtra

  • After receiving complaints in the form of messages, telephone calls and emails from several students who appeared in MAH CET 2023 on March 25, in different cities, the CET cell had decided to conduct an inquiry into the glitches.
  • Mahendra Warbhuvan, the CET cell commissioner had confirmed that an inquiry committee, headed by the Director, Directorate of Technical Education was constituted to thoroughly examine all the complaints
