MICA Admits Diverse Batch 2023 of 235 students with 53% Females for PGP, CCC and FPM from Different Academic Disciplines

Continuing the legacy of diversity, MICA Ahmedabad has admitted a diverse batch of 235 students with 53% female and 52% students with work experience. The two week long orientation programme 2023 for 235 admitted students across three programs PGP, CCC and FPM is over now. MICA hosted a series of sessions focussing on the well-being of the incoming students in MICAs PGDMC and PGDM, Crafting Creative Communications (CCC), and Fellow Programme in Management (FPM)

Continuing its trend of equating gender ratio across all its programmes for the incoming batch 2023, MICA Ahmedabad, the school of ideas, dedicated to creating Leadership in Strategic Marketing and Communication has admitted an equal number of females enrolling for its programmes but also recorded an increase in its percentage. Fifty-three percent of the incoming batch across all three programmes flagship PGDM-C and PGDM, Crafting Creative Communications (CCC), and Fellow Programme in Management (FPM) are females, whereas 47% are male students. Of 235 students across all three programmes, 125 are female students, whereas 110 are male students.

Dr. Shailendra Raj Mehta, President & Director of MICA, said, "MICA is recognized as the most gender-diverse B-school in the country with a gender ratio of 50: 50 at most times. Admissions at MICA is a merit-based, transparent process. We take pride in our uniquely designed entrance test, MICAT, which tests analytical and creative skills, attracting more female students without any preference or quota.”

MICA PGP 2023-25 Batch

  • PGP 2023-25 Batch Size: 204 students
  • Male Students: 101
  • Female Students: 103
  • Average Age: About 80% of the PGP class comprises students in the age group of 21-25 years.
  • Work Experience: 52% students are with prior work experience.
  • Freshers: 48%
  • Academic Diversity: 32% engineers, 13% Commerce graduates, 10% from Sciences, and 9% from Arts.

MICA CCC Programme
79% students of the batch are girls Around 70% of the total batch comes with prior work experience

MICA FPM Programme

  • Batch Size: 7 Students
  • Female Scholars: 3
  • Average Age Group: 24-34 years

Speaking on the continuing trends on batch diversity, Prof. Ruchi Tewari and Prof. Taral Pathak, Co-Chairs of Admissions at MICA, said, “With every passing year, students who aspire to get into MICA are academically more sound and interestingly more sensitive too. They express a high sense of compassion for social and ecological issues and have tried creative ways to solve them. This year, several of them have been a part of the start-up eco-system, where they have either had their own start-ups or worked in start-ups. We are sure that the interplay of diversity in all facets especially work experience will offer a rich learning experience.”

MICA Conducts Two Week Long Orientation Programme
MICA had begun two week long orientation programme on June 11, 2023 for 235 admitted students across three programs MICA’s flagship Postraduate Programme (PGP – PGDMC and PGDM), Crafting Creative Communications (CCC), and Fellow Programme in Management (FPM). The orientation program's chief guest, Mr. Basant Rathore, Senior VP – Strategy, Brand, and Business Development Jagran Prakashan Ltd. and a MICA alum, shared his mantras to inspire the new batch.

Sharing the key highlights of orientation program design, the Co-chairs of the Orientation Committee, Prof. Shubhra Gaur and Prof. Mini Mathur, said, “The Orientation programme focusses on the city, campus, community, career and the self. We aim to sensitise our new students to core MICA and human values like respect for diversity, equity, inclusivity, creativity, innovation, and sustainability. Special emphasis is given to holistic health comprising of prana (breathing), aasanas, high-intensity workouts, and a session on mental health by our in-house doctor and counsellor.”

A session titled ‘Dealing with AI as a MICA student’ will acquaint the students with new ways to engage with the ever-changing world.
