Due to disruption caused by the COVID-19, MBA & PGDM Admission 2020 process has been delayed. To streamline, on May 1, regulatory body AICTE issued a notification with revised Academic Calendar 2020, Online Classes and Fee guidelines for B-schools. Read more. So, how are leading B-schools planning to complete their Admissions, and when are they planning to start new batch? To answer these queries with authentic information, MBAUniverse.com is interviewing Official Spokespersons from leading B-schools.

Q: Please tell us the current status of Admission 2020 process?
A: The Institute has completed the selection process, part of which was conducted online. It ended on April 15,2020.

Q: So, have you declared final Admission List?
A: We are yet to declare the Results.

Q: What steps should your selected students take like fee submission?
A: Applicants should keep their first instalment for the Fees of the Institute they have applied to ready. Processing an educational loan may take some time in the given situation, so they could check the formalities and keep whatever is required ready for applying if they plan to go for a bank loan. Documents needed should be kept ready. Scanned copies of the same should be kept handy.

Q: Please share your Fee details, last date to submit, and refund process?
A: Our Annual Fees is Rs 5,50,000 plus Rs 4,000 library deposit and Hostel Fees as may be applicable.

We will follow the refund policy as prescribed by AICTE. According to the current notification, last date for full refund of fees after deducting Rs 1,000 against cancellation is July 25, 2020.

Q: So, when are you planning to start the new batch?
A: As per AICTE notification, new batch could start around August 1, 2020, subject to of course new developments of the pandemic and government announcements.

Q: Will you start with Online classes?
A: There is certainly a possibility of engaging via Online Platforms. Basis current scenario we believe it could be a Hybrid Approach.

Q: Are you planning Pre-MBA Orientation classes…
A: Yes, we are considering this.

Q: To close, will you like to share any other details with MBA Aspirants?
A: The overall admissions and results have been delayed across institutes and Regulators have shared a schedule which applies uniformly.

So, aspirants should take their decision considering these aspects and not panic or fall prey to rumours. They should rely on direct communication from the institution on their website and credible channels only.

Students enrolling this year will be in the workplace after two years, by which time industry and workplace will be ready and rearing to accept workforce that is prepared with new skills needed in the workplace. One thing that is certain is students will have to accept the need to move away from herd mentality and focus on building skills that contribute to the economy.

Welingkar Mumbai closed its application process on February 14, 2020 for PGDM admission 2020 after giving the last chance to apply. The institute had announced the exam score cut offs for shortlisting the candidates as well as the GD-PI dates in different cities for admission to its Mumbai and Bangalore campuses. Welingkar Admission Eligibility

  1. The candidate must hold a bachelor's degree of minimum 3 years duration, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA
  2. The graduation must be completed by June 2020
  3. The candidate should have appeared in one of the following exams - CAT 2019/XAT 2020/CMAT 2020/ATMA (Feb 2020 or GMAT (Taken from 2017 onwards) and must score positive to become eligible for admission.
