XLRI announces XAT 2021 Exam Date – January 3

Xavier School of Management (XLRI) Jamshedpur will conduct Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) 2021 on Sunday, January 3, 2021 from 9.30 AM to 12.30 PM as a computer based test in 72 cities. XAT 2021 scores will be used by XLRI, SPJIMR, XIMB, IMT, all XAMI institutions and also by more than 150 other associated B-schools for MBA/PGDM admission 2021.

Close on the heels of CAT 2020, the notification for next big MBA entrance exam - XAT 2021 was released on September 7, 2020 making it clear that despite the Covid-19 challenges, arrangements are being made to conduct large exams in a safe environment. More than one lakh candidates are expected to register and apply for XAT 2021.

Since XAT is conducted on the first Sunday of January every year, XLRI has not broken the legacy of 70 years in convening the XAT 2021 also. The registration for XAT 2021 is open from September 10 till November 30, 2020 midnight.

XAT 2021: Key Highlights
XAT exam 2021 is divided in 4 sections comprising MCQ type questions on Quantitative Ability; English Language & Logical reasoning; Decision Making and General Awareness (GK).

Below are the key highlights and changes in XAT 2021 exam:

XLRI has introduced common application form to apply for XAT exam 2021 and to apply for XLRI admission 2021. At a nominal additional application fee of Rs.300, you can submit your XLRI application online for admission alongwith XAT registration form.

XAT Exam Registration process offers the opportunity to apply for admission to all the XLRI Jamshedpur PGDM programmes. The XAT 2021 Application Form has separate columns to apply for each PGDM programme of XLRI. You can avail this facility, if you wish to apply for admission to XLRI.

XAT 2021 Exam: Unlikely to be Postponed or Cancelled
Given the Covid-19 pandemic situation, there is confusion whether XAT 2021 would be cancelled or postponed? However the recent verdict given by Hon’ble Supreme Court of India in regard to conduct of Joint Entrance Examination (Main) 2020  and National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) UG-2020 has clarified that all the entrance exams should be conducted without fail on time and would not be deferred or cancelled as the careers of the candidates can’t be put in jeopardy. 

Besides, CAT exam is also scheduled more than a month before XAT 2021. Despite being a large exam, CAT is unlikely to be postponed and as such it is expected that XAT 2021 will also

not be cancelled nor its exam date will be postponed.
