Xavier Institute of Management (XIMB) is a 32-year old autonomous B-School of the Xavier University and is the flagship school of the University. XIMB MBA Admission Eligibility

  1. To meet the XIM-XUB eligibility criteria, an applicant must possess a strong and consistent academic background. Performance in 10th grade, 12th grade and every year of graduation are considered in the XIMB selection process
  2. The candidate must hold a bachelor's degree, with at least 55% marks or equivalent CGPA
  3. The bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification obtained by the candidate must entail a minimum of three years of education after completing higher secondary schooling (10+2) or equivalent
  4. If the candidate is awarded grades/CGPA instead of marks, the equivalence would be based on the equivalence certified by the institution/university from where the bachelor's degree is obtained. In case the institution/university does not have any scheme for converting the CGPA into equivalent marks, the equivalence would be established by Xavier University by dividing the obtained CGPA by the maximum possible CGPA and multiplying the resultant by 100 to confirm the eligibility of the candidate
  5. A candidate appearing for the final year bachelor's degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed the degree requirements and are awaiting results can also apply. Only the cCandidates who expect to complete the final part of their degree examinations by June 15, 2020, can also apply.
  6. Offers of admission to such candidates, if made, will be provisional and will be automatically cancelled in the event of their failing to complete all the requirements for obtaining the degree before June 15, 2020.
  7. The Applicant should have appeared in CAT 2019/XAT 2020 or GMAT (Taken between January 1, 2018 and December 31, 2019) exam and must have scored minimum prescribed score in the entrance exam to become eligible for admission
  8. Work experience is not mandatory for this program. Fresh graduates with No work experience can apply.
  9. Relevant work experience after graduation will only be considered.
  10. The last date to apply for MBA programme at XIMB is the 1st week of December 2019.

How to Apply for Admission?
Following steps are included in the Xavier University, Bhubaneswar Application process:

Step 1: Register and Apply for Entrance Exam

  • Carefully register and apply for at least one of the MBA entrance exams.
  • Applicants are required to appear in one of the following Admission Tests after registering for it: XAT 2020 to be conducted by XLRI, Jamshedpur, on January 05, 2020; CAT 2019 to be conducted by IIMs on November 24, 2019; GMAT taken in 2018 or 2019.
  • In case applicant does not register and appear in any of above entrance exams. he/she can appear in X-GMT to be conducted by Xavier University, Bhubaneswar in the last week of January 2020.
  • Please note that registering for XAT/CAT/GMAT is a prerequisite for applying to XIMB, if not opting for X-GMT.

Step 2: Apply to XUB

  • Applicants have to fill up the online application form separately available on XUB website. Upon successfully filling the online application form and paying the application fee, of Rs.1500/- (under revision) for the first option, and Rs.700/- each for the subsequent options the applicant will be intimated by email about the acceptance of the form.
  • Use single form for applying for multiple programs and/or through multiple tests
  • The last date to fill up the application form is first week of December 2019
  • Besides registering for XAT/CAT/GMAT, one has to apply (online) separately to Xavier University, Bhubaneswar.

XIMB Admission Process 2020

Shortlist
Candidates will be short-listed for GD-PI-WAT round on the basis of their sectional and overall score in the entrance exam after declaration of entrance exam result.

The Institute will decide the section-wise as well as total cut-off marks which will be used for short-listing the candidates to be called for Writing Ability Test, Group Discussion and Personal Interview.  

Interview Round
After the Shortlisting process, GD-PI-WAT will be held in different cities to select the suitable students for the programme.

WAT, GD & PI will be held in Bangalore, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Mumbai. Candidates will have to meet their own travel expenses for appearing in the Interview session.

Final Admission Offer
The final selection is based on academic profile, performance in entrance exam, performance in Interview round, work experience among others.

Final Admission Offer will be made to the candidates in the last week of April 2020. Academic session would commence in the middle of June 2020.

Take X-GMAT, if National Tests are Missed
According to XIMB admission criteria, the institute will accept scores of CAT 2019, XAT 2020, GMAT taken in 2018 or 2019 but if you have not appeared in these exams, it will conduct X-GMT on Jan 27, 2019. Those who appear for X-GMT will have to clear the sectional and overall cut offs.

The other Schools of XUB offering MBA programmes will also accept NMAT by GMAC 2019 scores for programs: MBA-HRM, MBA-RM, MBA-SM, MBA-UMG and MBF.

However, for MBA (Business Management) 2020 offered by XIMB, registration for XAT/CAT/GMAT is a prerequisite for applying to XIMB, if not opting for X-GMT.

XUB Cut Off  

  • Xavier University, Bhubaneswar gives emphasis not only on entrance exam scores but also on Academic Profile, Work experience, and other parameters.  
  • XIMB or other B-schools of XUB will announce their cut offs at the time of shortlisting. However, they keep their cut offs moderate in the range of 85 to 90 percentile and the candidates above the minimum cut-offs in the CAT/XAT/GMAT will be considered for all the subsequent stages
