XLRI Placements 2011: 317 offers, 109 firms, 15% rise in avg salary

The Campus Recruitment 2011 at XLRI School of Business and Human Resources, Jamshedpur, witnessed for the first time ever, a batch of 240 students getting placed in less than 4 days with a total number of 109 firms taking part in the recruitment.

The average domestic package was Rs. 15.8 lakh per annum, which is a 15% rise over last years figure. The highest domestic package stood at Rs. 23 lakh per annum. The highest international offer of US $120,000 per annum was made by Novartis, Switzerland. The placement figures are as follows: PPO There was a 19.25% jump in the Pre Placement offers from last year.

Laterals The Lateral Placements at XLRI have been an impressive. It doubled the average salary of last year,figuring, Rs. 16.5 lakh per annum.

Number of offers The Placement Process attracted 109 companies giving a total of 317 offers.

Salary With a hike of 12%, the average salary reached to Rs. 15.8 lakh per annum.

Sectoral Analysis: Finance XLRI received 25% of the offers from the financial sector.

Marketing Marketing has drawn renewed interest from the students and was the most sought after profile with 25% accepting offers.

Consulting 25 % of the students entered the Campus Recruitment Program with top notch consulting firms which strengthened XLRIs relations with The Consulting firms.

General Management Over 13% offers in several middle management positions were offered to the students.

Human Resources Recruitments continues to be robust and growing with the participation of major firms in Consulting, FMCG and Finance sector for International Banks and Group Companies alike.

First Time Recruiters KPMG for the first time opened its treasured Financial Risk Management role at XLRI for the class of 2011.

Entrepreneurship XLRIs promoting Entrepreneurship as committed by it, through the sustenance of Deferred Placement for encouraging students to set up their own ventures.

Placements for GMP Students in Progress Encouraged by the warm industry response, XLRI currently organizing a special placement week at St. Xaviers College Mumbai, which started on 14th Feb and will end on 19th Feb.
