CAT 2023 Admit Card Release Delayed by 2 Weeks: Now on Nov 7; Check How it Can Disturb your CAT Test Day Plan, What Measures You Should Take

IIM Lucknow has announced 2 weeks delay in release of CAT 2023 Admit card. Now the CAT 2023 Admit card will be available for view and download from November 7, 2023 instead of October 25. The delay in CAT 2023 Admit Card download facility has put the CAT aspirants in a dilemma and many of their CAT related activities will be affected adversely including the error correction process in the CAT Admit Card details

Announcing the CAT Admit Card delay, IIM Lucknow has informed “The Admit Card for CAT 2023 examination will be made live on 07th Nov 2023. Please use your User id and Password to login and download the Admit card.”

Possible Reasons for Delay in CAT Admit Card 2023 Release
The two possible reasons which might have led to delay in release of CAT 2023 admit card are:

1. High Volume of Applicants for CAT 2023
CAT 2023 registration numbers have broken all previous records. CAT 2023 exam applications have gone up by 30% at 3.3 lakhs as compared to 2.55 lakhs last year. 75000 More Candidates have applied for CAT 2023 as compared to CAT 2022. This high volume might have created some technical issues in creating more CAT exam centres and allocation of CAT exam slots to the candidates. It is likely that due to this high volume, the delay in release of CAT exam 2023 admit card has occurred. It may be noted that in 2017, when IIM Lucknow CAT exam, a delay of one week occurred in release of CAT Admit card.

2. Extension in CAT 2023 Registration Date
Another reason which might be causing the delay in release of CAT admit card is one week extension in CAT 2023 registration last date. At the request of many CAT aspirants, IIM Lucknow had extended the last date to apply for CAT 2023 to September 21, 2023 from earlier September 13. On account this one week extension clubbed with high volume of applicants, the CAT 2023 admit card release might have been delayed

Delay in CAT Admit Card Release: Not the first Time
This is not the first time that delay has occurred in CAT admit card release, in fact since 2014, CAT Admit card could not be released on announced scheduled date and was delayed by a few days. However, CAT 2022, CAT 2021, 2020, 2019 and 2018 admit card was issued in time on pre announced date. This year again the CAT 2023 Admit card is delayed

CAT Admit Card Delay: Implications
CAT 2023 aspirants are now in dilemma as they know nothing about the details in CAT Admit card. Since the CAT admit card is delayed by two weeks, there is no activity also they can initiate before the CAT admit card is made available

Travel Plan for CAT exam day! Unable to finalise
This is the MBA exam season and number of MBA exams as well as other competitive exams are taking place. Since you do not know anything about your Correct details as they will be marked in CAT Admit card, for example your test centre details, CAT exam time, you cannot make your travel plan at this stage. 

CAT 2023 aspirants might also be appearing in NMAT or other entrance exams and in case the allotted exam cities are different and are not according to the preferred test cities, the travel plan has to be rescheduled. It is not necessary that those coming from far off places may find timely accommodation in the trains of their choice.

Whether you have been allotted the CAT test centre as per your first choice or the subsequent ones out of the remaining five, will be known only when you view and download your CAT 2023 admit card on November 7.

How far is CAT Test venue? Unaware as of Now..
It is not necessary that you can get very well approachable CAT test venue in the unknown test city. You need to finalize your accommodation well in time which is nearest to your test venue to avoid any traffic blues.

Your CAT exam time slot: Information in Admit Card only
Whether your CAT exam is scheduled in morning time slot or in afternoon or in evening on November 26, 2023 can only be known when you get access to your CAT admit card. If your CAT test venue is in nearby city, taking travel time of 1-2 hours and is in afternoon session you may not like to go there a day before, but if it is in the morning session you need to arrive a day before, check the place where your CAT exam centre is located and get yourself accommodated at the most suitable place taking minimum travel time to the test venue.

Less time left to rectify errors in CAT Admit card
Whatever you entered in your registration form, would be reflected in your CAT 2023 Admit Card. In case of any slightest wrong entry while completing the personal details, choice of 6 test cities among others, you may face a little more difficulty than you anticipated.

You may not be allowed to sit for the exam due to mismatch in spelling or may have to travel to some other destination to appear in CAT 2023 than what you thought would be the correct exam centre.

Utilise Time & Check Application summary
You must have received an automated email confirmation upon successful submission of your application.  If you received the confirmation mail from CAT Centre 2023, all the details would be available in your application summary. Check each of the inserted details and if you find any one is wrong, immediately contact the help desk even before the CAT 2023 Admit card is issued.

Once the admit card is out on CAT 2023 website and available for download on November 7, there will be a great rush to CAT 2023 help desk and at that time it will be very difficult to get the things corrected in time.

The CAT 2023 Admit Card would contain your personal details along with other information. These personal details are very much important to verify and to confirm your candidature.
