IFMR GSB Admission Eligibility

1. Applicants should have been born on/after 1st January 1993 and on/before 31st December 2000.
2. IFMR GSB eligibility criteria require that the candidate must hold a bachelor's degree of minimum 3 years duration, with a consistent good academic record with 1^st class marks or equivalent CGPA
3. The candidate should be registered for CAT 2019/XAT 2020/CMAT 2020 or GMAT/GRE (GMAT & GRE (taken on / after 1st January 2017).
4. If the candidate is awarded grades/CGPA instead of marks, the equivalence to determine PGDM admission eligibility would be based on the equivalence certified by the institution/university from where the bachelor's degree is obtained. In case the institution/university does not have any scheme for converting the CGPA into equivalent marks, the equivalence would be established by IFMR GSB by dividing the obtained CGPA by the maximum possible CGPA and multiplying the resultant by 100 to confirm the Admission eligibility of the candidate. 
5. A candidate appearing for the final year bachelor's degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed the degree requirements and are awaiting results is also eligible to apply for IFMR GSB Admission 2020.
6. It is mandatory for a final year student, who is provisionally considered eligible by IFMR GSB and offered admission, to submit the mark-sheet and degree certificate of the final year bachelor's degree examination by the date prescribed by IFMR GSB.
7. Graduates from a full time degree course, but NOT Part time/ correspondence/ distance mode/ online mode in any discipline with consistent academic record; Candidates pursuing final year degree are eligible to apply.
8. Work experience is NOT mandatory, but those with work experience should have less than or equal to 3 years of experience as on 1st December 2019.

Easier Application Process
The IFMR GSB application process is now much easier for the MBA admission 2020. IFMR GSB will accept applications in two rounds – Working Professionals Round (WPR) and General Round (GR). IFMR last date to apply for Working Professional Round (WPR) is February 4, 2020 and the last date to apply for General Round (GR) is March 3, 2020.

How to Apply for Admission?
Application for Admission to MBA 2020 at IFMR GSB Chennai should be submitted online. Two Application Rounds
IFMR GSB offers two opportunities to the candidates for admission to MBA programme by conducting two admission rounds – Working Professional Round (WPR) and General Round (GR). Before you submit your application in either round, note the difference between the two rounds and their respective time lines.

Working Professional Round (WPR): Last Date to Apply- Feb 4, 2020

• The Working Professional Round (WPR) is open to applicants who have work experience of 12 to 36 months
• Last Date to Apply for WPR is February 4, 2020
• Shortlist of candidates for WPR will be released in 2nd/3^rd week of February, 2020
• The selection process will start in 4th week of February 2020
• Final selection result will be declared in the 3rd week of March 2020
• The selection process for this round scheduled in February 2020, will be held at the seven Indian cities – Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, and Pune; subject to a viable number of shortlisted applicants in each of these centers.

General Round: Last Date to Apply March 3, 2020

• The Application for General Round is open to all applicants – employed or fresher.
• The deadline to apply for the General Round is March 3, 2020.

7 Stages to Fill Up IFMR GSB Application Form
IFMR GSB admission 2020 application form has seven sections. Apart from filling in the seven pages of application form, the applicant is required to upload mark sheets, certificates and other supporting documents in the application portal while applying for admission. The application fee (non-refundable) of INR 1,500/- is to be paid before final submission of application form.

IFMR GSB Admission Criteria
IFMR GSB Admission Criteria include two step process involving the Shortlisting criteria and final admission criteria based on entrance exam score and other key components apart from entrance exam score:

1. IFMR GSB Shortlisting Criteria
   The first part of IFMR GSB Admission criteria is the shortlisting criteria before final selection round. IFMR GSB shortlists the candidates on the basis of following parameters:

• While CAT/XAT/CMAT percentiles or GRE/GMAT scores is an important component of the admission process, these are not the sole criteria for admission.
• The admissions committee shortlists applicants for the selection process, taking into consideration, the applicant’s past academic performance, entrance test scores, and a passion for excellence demonstrated even in non-academic endeavor such as sports (represented country, state or district/ University/ College/ School), Debate, Drama, Moot Court, NCC (but not NSS) volunteering, activism etc.(of a corresponding level). Those with track record in these areas get a relaxation with regard to cut off scores, provided they are otherwise eligible, and capable
• However, there is no exemption from the requirement of a valid score in, at least one of CAT/XAT/CMAT/ GRE/GMAT regardless of any achievements.

2. Final Admission Selection Round Criteria

• Post short-listing on the basis of all the parameters, applicants are called for the final selection round (PI-WAT Round)
• All the shortlisted candidates are eligible to go through the final selection round by IFMR GSB  
• The Final Selection process will be held in February-March 2020
• Final selection is based on exam score, PI, WAT score, academics, Work Experience, achievements among others.
• Final admission offer based on above parameters is given to the candidates in March 3^rd week for WPR Round and in April 2020 for General Round.
• Applicants can submit more than one entrance test score. IFMR GSB considers the best test score for shortlisting. The cut off and weights are not the same for all the entrance exams – so your performance in all the entrance exams you have taken is evaluated against the respective cut off and only your best performance is considered.

IFMR GSB Admission Process 2020
The selection process consists of Written Ability Test (WAT) followed by personal interview (PI). IFMR GSB has two rounds of admission for the MBA batch. IFMR GSB admits students with a proven calibre to perform. Admission process to the MBA 2020 is facilitated through a rigorous selection process which requires highly competitive CAT/XAT/CMATGMAT scores, performances in personal interview and other criteria.

Following steps are included in the IFMR GSB Admission process:

Step 1: Apply and appear in at least one of the entrance exams – CAT 2019; XAT 2020; CMAT 2020; GMAT or GRE (Taken on or after Jan 1, 2017)

Step 2: The candidate should apply to IFMR GSB online by using the application form. The expected application fee of Rs.1500/- can be paid online.

Step 3: Candidates are short-listed for Personal Interview (PI) and Written Ability Test (WAT) round from among the eligible candidates who have a valid entrance exam score, good academics and qualify on other parameters and have applied to the programme of IFMR GSB. The P I-WAT process will be conducted in the months of February/March 2020.

Step 4: After the PI round, admission offers are made by IFMR GSB to successful candidates. The final selection is based on a diverse set of attributes which includes performance in entrance exam, performance in PI round, academics, Work Experience among others

Step 5: Final Admission Offer will be made to the candidates in the April 2020 on the basis of Final Score arrived after awarding the weightage scores on all the components.
