IIM Jammu has completed 100% placements 2024 for its 7th large MBA batch 2022-24 with sharp dip in highest salary which has gone down at Rs.31.75 LPA in Placement 2024 from Rs.64 LPA last year. Average salary has also gone down by 6% at Rs.15.48 LPA from Rs.16.50 LPA last year. The youngest of 20 IIMs, IIM Jammu witnessed 130 companies in placement 2024 making job offers to 244 MBA students. IIM Jammu has recorded more placement offers per student for its diverse 7th batch in terms of academics, work experience, and ethnicity.
In a scenario when most B-schools are facing adverse impact of Economic Slowdown in their placements, IIM Jammu too has been affected by this phenomenon with a dip in its Average, and Highest salary for the 2022-24 batch. IIM Jammu has started conferring MBA degree instead of diploma after implementation of IIM Act 2017 which empowered the IIMs to award MBA degree.
IIM Jammu Placements 2024 Vs Other 3rd Generation IIMs Placements 2024
Out of the third generation 7 IIMs which started operation in 2015-2016, only IIM Bodh Gaya, IIM Jammu and IIM Visakhapatnam are the three IIMs who have completed placements for 2022-24 batch. All the three of them have registered dip in average salary which is more for IIM Bodh Gaya at 13% than for IIM Jammu and IIM Visakhapatnam at 6%. Among the newest IIMs, IIM Jammu was the last IIM to launch operation. While other IIMs started operation in 2015, the first batch of IIM Jammu was launched in 2016. At present IIM Jammu is among the fastest growing IIMs and its batch size is consistently growing. IIM Jammu is operating from the Govt. College of Engineering & Technology, Old University Campus, Canal Road, Jammu. Permanent campus of IIM Jammu is coming up at Jagti, Nagrota Road, Jammu (15 kms from Airport on NH 33) over an area of 200 acres. The total covered area will be approximately 115800 sq. mtrs (as per the DPR) and is expected to be operative from 2024-25.
