MICA had opened its admission application process on August 23 and will close it on January 30, 2019 for the 2nd phase of MICAT 2019. The Application process for 1st phase was closed on November 20, 2018.

MICA Ahmedabad Admission Cut Off  
MICA Ahmedabad CAT Cut off 2019 is based on overall percentile score of CAT 2018. The XAT 2019 cut off or GMAT exam score cut off have also been announced by MICA Ahmedabad. Only the candidates above the minimum cut-offs in the overall percentile ranks, and obtaining a positive (greater than zero) raw score in all sections of entrance exam will be considered for all the subsequent stages.

MICA Ahmedabad Admission Eligibility

  1. 1. A Candidate is eligible to apply for admission for PGDM-C at MICA if he/she has a Bachelor's degree (in keeping with the 10 + 2 + 3 system) or an equivalent qualification in any discipline recognised by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
  2. 2. Candidates appearing for final examinations towards a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) are also eligible to apply
  3. 3. One of the most important points in MICA Ahmedabad Admission Eligibility criteria is that apart from a recognized graduate degree, the candidate should appear in CAT 2018 or XAT 2019 exam
  4. 4. It is mandatory for all the applicants who adhere to the MICA eligibility criteria to register and appear in MICAT without which their candidature will be cancelled.

MICA Ahmedabad Admission Criteria

  1. MICAT: Mandatory for CAT/XAT/GMAT Takers
  • Before the shortlisting for final admission round is done by MICA, each candidate must have appeared in one of the entrance exams CAT 2018/XAT 2019/GMAT (2017 onwards).
  • All the candidates must appear in MICAT, which consists of 3 sections - Section A: Psychometric Test; Section B: Verbal ability, Quantitative ability and Data Interpretation, General awareness; Divergent and Convergent Thinking. Section C is the Descriptive Test.

MICA Ahmedabad Shortlisting Criteria
The second part of MICA Ahmedabad Admission criteria is the shortlisting criteria before final selection round. MICA will shortlist the candidates on the basis of CAT/XAT/GMAT exam score and MICAT score as under:

  • MICA awards 50% weight to MICAT score and 50% weight to CAT/XAT/GMAT score in shortlisting for final selection round. It is calculated on the composite score formula
  • The 1st stage of shortlisting in MICA Ahmedabad first considers score in Section A of MICAT Psychometric test which  is a qualifier
  • Those who qualify on the Psychometric, their relative performance on CAT/XAT/GMAT are considered for shortlisting.
  •  Candidates clearing a minimum cut-off in CAT /XAT total percentile/GMAT score are considered.
  • Those who qualify based on the CAT/XAT/GMAT performance, their Section B of MICAT will be assessed
  • Those who qualify on the basis of relative performance subject to a minimum cut-off in Normalized Scores of Section B of MICAT shall have their Section C of MICAT Assessed. Each section will have its own cut-off.
  • Those who qualify on the basis of a, b, c and d (on the basis of relative performance subject to a minimum cut-off in Normalized Scores of Section C of MICAT) shall be considered for short listing for GE and PI.
  • Short listed candidates will be called for GE and PI at Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Delhi, Kolkata & Mumbai.
  • Candidates who demonstrate aptitude for expressing, assessing, and /or conceiving ideas that move people to action and achieve business results tend to stand a better chance of being shortlisted in the MICA Admission process.
  1. Final Admission Selection Criteria
  • All the shortlisted candidates are eligible to participate in Final selection round for admission to MICA Ahmedabad
  • MICA Ahmedabad selection criteria after final admission round award 30% weight to Personal Interview(PI); 20% weight to Group Exercise (GE), 30% weight to MICAT exam score, 20% to CAT/XAT/GMAT score.

The final merit list for admission 2019-21 at MICA will be generated as per the following weightage:

MICA Ahmedabad Admission Process
Following steps are included in the MICA Ahmedabad Admission process:

Step 1: Register and Appear in CAT/XAT/GMAT

  • Applicant has to register for and appear in one of the three exams viz. CAT 2018, XAT 2019 or GMAT (Taken 2017 onwards).
  • Apply online for admission to MICA and update your score options in the online application form which you would like to submit (CAT/XAT/GMAT).
  • After receiving your CAT score, XAT Registration No. or GMAT score, update the details on MICA website on or before 30th January 2019.
  • In case of XAT exam, the applicant needs to mention XAT Registration number only and MICA will collect the score from XLRI.

Step 2: Apply & Appear in MICAT

  • All candidates will be assessed on MICAT conducted by MICA
  • 50% weightage is awarded to MICAT score in shortlisting criteria for admission to MICA
  • MICA Application Fee of Rs.1985/- includes the MICAT test fee

Step 3: Shortlist

  • All the candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of their performance in CAT/XAT/GMAT & MICAT
  • The shortlisted candidates shall appear for both Group Exercise (GE) & Personal Interview (PI)

Step 4: Final Selection

  • All the candidates who appear in GE & PI in final selection round at MICA and are considered for the final merit list must be recommended by majority of the panelists of PI Round
  • Final Admission Offer will be made to the candidates in the last week of April/First week of May 2019 on the basis of Final Merit Score

MICA has begun convening the selection process twice in one academic year. By having the selection process twice - in December-January and Feb-March - MICA intends to provide more opportunities to MICA aspirants.

MICAT 2019 will be a multidimensional computer based examination, which will assess candidates in areas such as Divergent Thinking Abilities, Written Communication Abilities, General Awareness about contemporary social and business issues, including areas relevant to media, marketing, advertising & current affairs and Analytical & Verbal Abilities.
