XLRI - Xavier School of Management, one of India’s premier B-Schools, has announced change in leadership. XLRI has appointed Fr. Sebastian George, S.J., as the new Director of the institute and Prof Sanjay Patro as the Dean Academics at XLRI Jamshedpur. Both the functionaries have taken over the responsibilities of XLRI from August 26, 2022.
Fr. Sebastian George, S.J., was the Director of XLRI Delhi campus from where he has joined as the director of XLRI Jamshedpur. He succeeds Fr. Paul. Fernandes, S.J. who after successfully completing his term as director has handed over the reins to him.
Fr Sebastian has over 14 years of experience in the educational field. He is an alumnus of XLRI 1996 batch. He has rich academic experience in the areas of Individual Behaviour in Organizations, Transformational Leadership, Managerial Counselling and his research interests are in the area of Leadership and Personnel Effectiveness. He has served XLRI for many years in various capacities. On his appointment He said, “XLRI as a management school always strives to be an institute with a difference. We will together to inspire young minds who will become responsible leaders” and added, “I look forward to the support of all the faculty members, staff members, and students. We will together work towards the interest of the Institute. We have a well-set vision to bring a change in the economy and society at large.”
XLRI has also appointed its long serving faculty, Prof Sanjay Patro as the Dean Academics. Prof. Patro succeeds Prof. Ashish K Pani, who has served as the dean academics for the last six years. Prof. Sanjay Patro has been associated with XLRI Jamshedpur for the last 25 years as a Professor of Marketing. His areas of interest include product management, brand management, strategic planning, business development, marketing strategy and research.
