IIMV PhD Program comprises of two phases Coursework and Thesis work. The phase-1 of Course work covers the first year of the programme. Successful completion of the first phase requires passing the Comprehensive Examination (Written & Viva) at the end of the first academic year. a student is required to take 18-credit courses over this period.
On completion of Phase 1, the students begin thesis work consisting of a thesis proposal and a final thesis-evaluation. The area concerned can decide on the combination of PGP and PhD courses to be offered in year, subject to the minimum requirements. so that the student completes 27 credits before the comprehensive qualifying examination.
