IIM Visakhapatnam offers 5 years full time PhD Program. It is a research-intensive doctoral program aimed at imparting high-quality training in research.
IIMV’s PhD program aims primarily at training prospective scholars to excel in their chosen areas of research through high-quality publications. This program would also prepare scholars to be highly skilled teachers.

The program comprises one year of course work, a comprehensive examination and thesis work consisting of a thesis proposal defence; and a final thesis evaluation and defence. Collaboration between faculty members and students is the hallmark of this Program. The faculty members at IIMV are adept in research and publishing, providing a conducive environment for prospective scholars to find areas of interest from a rich and diverse bouquet of management themes. Financial Support for IIMV PhD Students

• Stipend will be paid at Rs. 37,000/- per month for the 1st two years and Rs. 42,000/- per month from the third year onwards. 
• Contigency Grant is paid as per UGC norms
• International Conference grants of up to Rs. 3,00,000/- and National Conference grants of up to Rs. 60,000/- towards accepted papers are paid
• In addition to this grants for publication of papers in national and international Journals, participation in international conferences are also paid
