NMIMS SBM Mumbai Admission Criteria 2019-21 is a two-step process involving the Shortlisting criteria based on NMAT by GMAC entrance exam score and the Final admission selection Criteria comprising Case Discussion and Personal Interview. How to Apply for NMIMS MBA Admission 2020

  • For admission to NMIMS University programmes NMIMS online application on NMIMS website has to be duly submitted & payment of application charges need to be made in any of the prescribed mode within stipulated time.
  • It is candidate's responsibility to select the program preference at the time of filling up the NMIMS application form
  • The final short listing of the candidate will happen as per the latest preference selected by candidate on his/her NMIMS application form.
  • There will be three radio buttons for registration in the NMIMS form - MBA Program/s; Both (MBA Program/s & PGDM - Bengaluru / PGDM – Hyderabad / PGDM – Navi Mumbai / PGDM – Indore);  and, PGDM - Bengaluru / PGDM – Hyderabad / PGDM – Navi Mumbai / PGDM – Indore.
  • A candidate who wishes to apply for more than one programme has to select MBA Program/s & PGDM - Bengaluru / PGDM – Hyderabad / PGDM – Navi Mumbai / PGDM – Indore and has to pay registration charges as per the above given information

  1. One of the most important points in NMIMS MBA/PGDM Admission Eligibility criteria is that apart from required recognized graduate degree, the candidate should be registered for NMAT by GMAC 2019 and must score well to become eligible for admission.
  2. The candidates, who have passed or, have appeared for graduation examination from a University where Grade Point Average is given, must produce the equivalent percentage for the GPA/CGPA obtained in writing from the University concerned.
  3. A candidate appearing for the final year bachelor's degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed the degree requirements and are awaiting results is also eligible to apply for NMIMS MBA/PGDM Admission 2020.
  4. It is sole responsibility of the candidate to ascertain whether they possess the necessary and requisite qualification for the admission at NMIMS, as verification of the documents is done at the time of final admission only.
  5. Candidates having two and more years of post-qualification work experience will be preferred for admission to all the full time MBA/PGDM programmes.
  6. The candidate must have appeared for all the subject(s) / exams before the commencement of the respective program (s) of NMIMS. The examination of none of the subjects should be held after the commencement of the respective course.

NMIMS SBM Mumbai Admission Criteria 2020 is a two-step process involving the Shortlisting criteria based on NMAT by GMAC entrance exam score and the Final admission selection Criteria comprising Case Discussion and Personal Interview for the shortlisted candidates.  

  1. NMIMS-SBM, Mumbai Shortlisting Criteria

The first part of NMIMS, Mumbai Admission criteria is the shortlisting criteria before final selection round. NMIMS will shortlist the candidates on the basis of following parameters:

  • NMIMS-SBM, Mumbai will consider NMAT by GMAC 2019 exam score of the applicants for shortlisting for final admission round.
  • Candidates will be short-listed on the basis of the combination of their score in NMAT by GMAC exam and latest preferences of the programmes selected on the NMIMS application / reapplication form.
  1. Final Admission Selection Round Criteria
  • Post short-listing on the basis of available scores, applicants will be called for the final selection round (PI Round) at the designated centres
  • NMIMS Mumbai and other campuses selection criteria in final admission round award weight to Entrance exam score; Academics; Work Experience and performance in Case Discussion (CD) and Personal Interview (PI) round.
  • No weightage will be awarded for the work experience below 6 months. Besides, Training/Project work/work done as an integral part of curricular requirement will not be considered.
  • The criteria to generate final merit list for admission will be based on the application data in terms of academic marks obtained, work experience, marks obtained in NMAT by GMAC and Case Discussion & Personal Interview.
  • The selection criteria will be based on merit only. Decision regarding cut-off of the merit list will solely lie with NMIMS.

NMIMS-SBM, Mumbai Admission Cut Off  
NMIMS School of Business Management, Mumbai has the higher cut offs in NMAT by GMAC as compared to other campuses of NMIMS. The NMAT exam cut offs will be based on NMAT by GMAC percentile score.  The cut offs may remain as under:

NMIMS Mumbai Admission Process
Following steps are included in the NMIMS Mumbai Admission process:

Step 1: Register and apply for NMAT by GMAC 2019 by October 3, 2019 and also apply for admission at NMIMS Mumbai and other preferred NMIMS campuses latest by October 15, 2019. The programme preferences once given cannot be changed later on.

Step 2: The candidate should apply to NMIMS campuses by using the common application form for all the 5 NMIMS campuses. The application fee of Rs.1500/- or Rs.1800/- can be paid online only through Debit/Credit Card or Net Banking  

Step 3: It is mandatory for the candidates to carry their Admit Card at the time of NMAT by GMAC exam and get it signed by the Test Centre Administrator. The signed admit card shall be required to be presented during CD and PI, if shortlisted. Admit card is a mandatory document to be retained till the admission cycle is not complete.

Step 4: Candidates who take the NMAT by GMAC test more than once must simultaneously / correspondingly apply again at the NMIMS. The NMAT by GMAC retake test score will only be taken into consideration by NMIMS if the candidate has paid and completed the reapplication process, for each registration at NMAT by GMAC, the candidate has to do the registration at NMIMS. His/her NMAT by GMAC marks will be considered only if he/she has applied at NMIMS for that particular attempt.

Step 5: During the reapplication process candidates can change their preference of programmes

Step 6: The last and most recent preferences as selected by the candidate at the time of Application or Reapplication will be taken as his / her final preferences for the shortlisting for final selection round.

Step 7: Shortlisted candidates are required to download the call letter from NMIMS website and should bring it for CD/PI process. No separate call letter will be mailed. Case Discussion (CD) and Personal Interview (PI) Round will be held from February 1 to 20, 2020 at designated centres.

Step 8: The final Merit list will be generated on February 24, 2020. The admission offer will be made on the basis of details in the application form on academic profile, work experience, Score obtained in NMAT by GMAC , performance in Case Discussion and Personal Interview.
