NMIMS MBA Application Form 2027: How to Apply in Two Steps
The NMIMS MBA admission process runs on two separate registrations. Completing only one leaves you out of the shortlist, because only candidates who have completed both steps and appeared for the examination are considered for shortlisting.

Step 1 — Register for NMAT by GMAC. Visit official NMAT registration 2027 page and pay the applicable registration fee. On successful registration you receive a GMAC registration number. Keep it safe; you cannot complete the NMIMS application without it. Read more about NMAT 2026.

Step 2 — Register at NMIMS. Visit official NMIMS application form 2027 and complete the NMIMS application by paying Rs 3,000 online. Only this step ensures your application is considered for admission through the NMIMS admission process 2027.

Four rules govern the NMIMS MBA application form 2027:

  • Five preferences, minimum. You must indicate programme preferences in the registration form, and at least five must be selected.
  • Stage 1 preferences do not bind anything. The preferences you enter at registration are collected for informational purposes only. Final preferences are taken during Stage 2, after shortlisting, and those are the ones used for the merit list and seat allotment.
  • No corrections after submission. Accuracy is the candidate’s responsibility, and no changes are permitted once the application is submitted. Check every field twice before you submit.
  • Verify your generated PDF. After the registration fee is paid, a PDF copy of the application form appears on your dashboard. Download it and confirm that every detail matches your documents.

NMIMS accepts only the score of the first NMAT examination attempted by the candidate. NMAT by GMAC allows multiple attempts, and many aspirants plan a second or third attempt to push their score up — but for NMIMS, attempt one is the one that counts. If NMIMS is a serious target, treat your first slot as your only slot.

NMIMS MBA Eligibility Criteria 2027
A 50% aggregate is the common floor, but the NMIMS MBA eligibility criteria diverge sharply between the general MBA programmes and the three specialised Mumbai programmes, which accept only specified degrees.

Programme

Eligibility Criteria

MBA Mumbai / Bengaluru / Jadcherla (Hyderabad) / Navi Mumbai / Indore, and MBA HR Mumbai

Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognised University with minimum 50% marks in the aggregate, counting all subjects taken and appeared for

MBA Business Analytics, Mumbai

Bachelor’s degree (10+2+3/4) in B.E, B.Tech, B.Sc Maths, B.Sc Statistics, B.Sc Computer Science, B.Sc Information Technology, B.Sc Data Science/Analytics, B.Sc Economics, B.A. Economics or B.Sc Finance, with minimum 50% aggregate

MBA (Digital Transformation), Mumbai

Same degree list as MBA Business Analytics, with minimum 50% aggregate

MBA Pharmaceutical Management, Mumbai

Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy (B.Pharm), BDS, BHMS, BAMS, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, MBBS or Microbiology from a recognised University with minimum 50% aggregate. No other undergraduate degree is eligible. Selection process is separate, at the Mumbai campus

Six sub-clauses apply across all programmes, and each has caught candidates out in past cycles:

  • Final-year students can apply. Candidates appearing for the final examination of their bachelor’s degree are eligible for all full-time programmes. Admission is provisional, subject to clearing the final examination with the stipulated aggregate.
  • Finish your exams before the programme starts. You must have appeared for all subjects before the NMIMS programme commences, and no subject may be examined after the course begins. If your university schedules final examinations during or after commencement, your candidature may be considered only at the discretion of NMIMS.
  • Year-wise marksheets are compulsory. You must produce semester-wise or trimester-wise marksheets for every college year. Consolidated marksheets are accepted only where the university does not issue individual ones. Internet copies need attestation by the Principal with an official seal, or self-attestation.
  • Convert your CGPA officially. If your university awards grades, obtain the equivalent percentage for your GPA or CGPA in writing from the university.
  • Distance and overseas degrees. Degrees from Open and Distance Learning institutions recognised by UGC are treated as equivalent, per UGC notification F. No. UGC/DEB/2013 dated 14.10.2013. An AIU equivalence certificate is mandatory for candidates who graduated from overseas universities located in India.
  • Verification happens at the end, and it is binding. Eligibility is verified only at final admission, through a professional verification agency. A fake medical fitness certificate, or a mediclaim policy declaring the wrong pre-existing disease, renders admission ineligible. NMIMS can disqualify a candidate at any stage, including after fees are paid, with fees refunded as per the prescribed refund rules.

NMIMS Admission 2027: Work Experience Eligibility
Work experience carries weightage in the final merit list, but NMIMS defines it narrowly and verifies it through a third party. Read this before you claim anything on the form.

Experience is valid only when all three conditions hold:

  • The employer is listed in both the GSTIN and TAN databases.
  • The experience was gained after completion of graduation, not during the period of study.
  • Salary is not paid in cash. Cash-salary experience earns no weightage in the merit list.

Experience is not valid if it comes from:

  • Family business, self-employment or an executive trainee role.
  • Training, internships, apprenticeships or any trainee position, irrespective of duration.

Two further points decide how much your experience is actually worth. First, only work experience of more than one year is given weightage in the final merit list. Second, if the information is found to be inaccurate, false, incomplete or insufficient at any stage, the candidate is disqualified and the candidature cancelled — even if admission has been taken and the programme has already begun.

NMIMS MBA Selection Process: The Two Stages Explained
The NMIMS MBA selection process has two clearly defined stages.

Stage 1 — NMAT by GMAC. The test is mandatory for all ten programmes: MBA at Mumbai, Bengaluru, Jadcherla (Hyderabad), Navi Mumbai, Indore and Ahmedabad, MBA HR Mumbai, MBA Business Analytics Mumbai, MBA (Digital Transformation) Mumbai and MBA Pharmaceutical Management Mumbai. GMAC submits the NMAT scores of all NMIMS applicants directly to the university.

Stage 2 — Shortlisting and campus process. Shortlisting is based on NMAT sectional and total scores, and covers only those candidates who applied to an NMIMS programme. NMIMS then conducts the second stage for shortlisted candidates, which may include a Competency Test and/or a Personal Interview. The handout confirms that the selection process is conducted in person and that candidates must carry their NMAT by GMAC scorecard. Call letters are declared on the candidate’s dashboard — they are neither emailed nor posted.

The final merit list is built on five inputs: NMAT by GMAC performance, the Personal Interview, the Competency Test, work experience and past academic performance. Admission is granted strictly on merit, and the cut-off for the merit list is determined solely at the discretion of NMIMS. If you have applied to more than one programme or campus, admission is decided on your merit score, your programme preferences and seat availability in that programme or campus, and the NMIMS decision is final and binding.
