Master of Business Administration (MBA)

The two-year full-time residential MBA is the flagship programme of SIBM Bengaluru, spread across four semesters and offering specialisations in Marketing, Human Resource Management, Finance, Operations. The structure of the programme is designed to give students the best in industry exposure and a nurturing classroom environment, to help them become the leaders of tomorrow, in the specialisation of their choice.

SIBM Bengaluru offers Technology Integrated Pedagogy which starts at the Pre Induction programme level and continues till the completion of the evaluation process. The tools /methods which are used to implement this practice include Harvard Business School Cases and Simulation, Moodle Learning Management System, Technology related Courses in the Curriculum, Online Learning and Teaching (OLT) Software, In House Cold Call Software, Flipped Classroom. SIBM Bengaluru has site licensing agreement with Harvard Business School Publishing. It Provides access to Harvard Online Harvard Case collections and Simulations and other reading materials. Integrated Learning Management System using MOODLE, KOHA and Use of E-databases like CMIE Prowess, Proquest, Emerald, JSTOR, Ebsco, Frost& Sullivan etc.

On successful completion of the programme, students are awarded  MBA degree from Symbiosis International University (SIU).

SIBM Bengaluru MBA curriculum is divided into four semesters spread over two years. In the first year and in part of the second year, students cover Generic core courses as well as electives. At the end of first year, students go for summer internships in prominent companies. In the second year specializations are offered in the areas of  Marketing, Human Resource Management, Finance, Operations. 

The Master of Business Administration (MBA) Program at Symbiosis Institute of Business Management Bengaluru (SIBM-B) aims to mould and groom future business leaders by providing them with World-class academic environment, Dynamic and contemporary course content that is constantly benchmarked against the course contents of top-rated institutes, appropriate levels of industry interface and social sensitization. 

The first year of the MBA program is divided into two semesters which introduces students to the foundation subjects of management such as Economics, Accounting, Statistics, Strategy, Marketing, Operations, Organisational Behavior, Finance, HR and others. At the end of the first year, the students go for SIP (Summer Internship Program) for duration of 8 weeks. It offers an opportunity to students to get exposure to the corporate world and to put their learnings into practice. The second year of the program (comprising of third and fourth semester) offer students a chance to specialize in their area of interest. Apart from the specializations, students are also encouraged to take electives outside one’s area of specialization. Apart from the regular academic work, the Institute organizes Management conclaves and seminars which add to the learning of the students.

With the objective of encouraging meritorious students and academic excellence, Scholarships/ Awards are offered to deserving students of the University by the Symbiosis Society Foundation. Following scholarships are offered to SIBM Bengaluru students:

Scholarships for IITians: Total 5 students from IITs who join Symbiosis International University for the MBA programme will be eligible for a @ 20% fee waiver.

University Scholarships: SIU Pune offers various scholarships to SIBM Pune students including Merit based PG Scholarships, Jayatee Deshmukh PG Scholarship for a Girl Student, Malhotra Weikfield Foundation Scholarship for MBA-IB, Alumni Scholarship for first rank in MBA-IB, Alumni Scholarship for second rank in MBA-IB, International Student Scholarships, Outstanding sports person Scholarships, Outstanding student participating in co- curricular activities, Jayatee Deshmukh Award, Lila Poonawala Scholarships

International Scholarships: Symbiosis has announced the Golden Jubilee Scholarship in celebration of 50 glorious years of offering quality education to International students. This is Special Scholarship for Foreign Nationals only and  covers only academic fees

Apart from these, Government of India and other scholarships are also offered to students.

The step by step process for admission to MBA programme at SIBM Bengaluru is as follows:

Step 1: The candidate must apply and appear and score the minimum required percentile in SNAP Test

Step 2: Along with submitting application for SNAP exam, candidates should register and apply for admission to SIBM Bengaluru by paying additional registration fee of Rs.1000/- per programme through SNAP application form  

Step 3: Preserve the Admit Card of SNAP Test for further selection process at SIBM, Bengaluru Appearing for SNAP Test does not automatically qualify an applicant for the next step in SIBM, Bengaluru selection process

Step 4: SIBM Bengaluru Shortlist Criteria is based on SNAP exam score. For MBA admission, every year SIBM Bengaluru shortlist criteria is announced. Shortlisted candidates are called for GE-WAT-PI Round from among the candidates who have a valid SNAP score, who have applied for admission to SIBMBengaluru and who satisfy the eligibility criteria for the programme  

Step 5: The final admission round in SIBM Bangalore MBA selection process will be held separately at SIBM Bengaluru campus

Step 6: After the GE-PI-WAT round, final admission offers will be made to successful candidates. Admission offer will be based on the weightage awarded to SNAP score, GE, WAT, PI and institute specific marks. Offer letters will be sent to the mailing address provided in the application form as also by email.

Candidates need to register and apply for SNAP exam and in the same SNAP form can apply for SIBM Bengaluru MBA admission. The registration and application fee for SNAP exam is Rs.2250/- and SIBM Bengaluru MBA application fee is Rs.1000/-
