TANCET 2026 Exam Analysis: Section-wise Questions, Difficulty Level, Cut Offs

• Anna University will conduct TANCET 2026 MBA exam on May 9, 2026 from 2.30-4.30 PM.
• TANCET MBA Exam will be a paper-pen based exam.
• Question paper shall consist of 100 questions in MCQ format.
• Each question will be followed by 4 alternate answer options.
• There was no change in marking scheme expected. Each correct answer will be awarded +1 mark and each wrong answer will carry 1/4 negative marking.
• Overall difficulty level of the paper is expected to be moderate.

The expected TANCET Exam Pattern 2026 is as follows.

Keeping in view the previous exam patterns, it is expected that TANCET cut offs will be between 38-40 marks out of 100. Candidates will be notified with actual marks and percentile score they have obtained, at the time of publishing result.

TANCET Exam Analysis for Data Analysis (Business Situations) Section

• Total Number of Questions: 20
• Questions were based on analysis of different business situation and data a
• Difficulty level was easy to moderate.
• Type of questions included: Tables, Pie charts, Graphs and Comparative Data etc.

A paragraph with the data to take business decisions was given. Test Takers need to analyse business situation on the basis of information given in the paragraph and answer the questions following the paragraph. The section evaluated the candidate’s ability to identify critically the data and apply the data to business decisions from given typical business situations

TANCET Analysis for Reading Comprehension section

• Number of Questions: 20
• Four RC Passages with total 20 questions
• Each RC Passage is followed by 5 questions
• All questions are of MCQs type
• Difficulty Level: Easy to Moderate
• Key topics of RC Passages are Current affairs, literature, social issues and sports events, history, international affairs etc.

TANCET Analysis for Quantitative Aptitude Section

• Number of Questions: 20
• Questions are individual ones
• All MCQs
• Difficulty Level: Easy to Moderate
• Covers major areas of Mathematics
• Key topics covered were from Arithmetic, Algebra, Geometry, Number system, Modern Math

TANCET Exam Analysis for Data Sufficiency Section

• Number of Questions: 20
• Includes Data Interpretation also
• All questions are MCQ type
• Difficulty level: Moderate
• Key topics covered were Sets on Data Interpretation topics like Pie Chart, Line Graph, Bar Graph, Tables. Major topics are Number System, Arithmetic, Algebra among others

TANCET Exam Analysis for General English Section

• Number of questions: 20
• Grammar, Vocabulary, Usage major areas
• All MCQs
• Difficulty Level: Moderate
• Key Topics covered were Parts of Speech, Sentence formation, Tenses, Conditionals, Idioms, Phrases, One word substitution, Picking the odd man out, formation of correct sentence among others

Keeping in view the moderate difficulty level of TANCET 2025, it is expected that TANCET cut offs will be slightly higher than last year and will be between 38-40 marks out of 100.

Candidates will be notified with actual marks and percentile score they have obtained, at the time of publishing result.
