TANCET 2026 marking scheme covers:

• The TANCET question paper have 100 questions.
• Candidates need to choose one correct answer option out of four options.
• For every correct answer, candidates will score 1 mark.
• For each wrong answer, 1/4 marks will be deducted
• If any candidate selects multiple options as the answer, it will be treated as the wrong answer and 1/3 mark will be deducted for this.
• No marks will be deducted for the questions left unanswered.

Data Sufficiency (DS) is the fourth section in TANCET exam and also has 20% weightage in the exam. Data Sufficiency section in TANCET is a Test on determining data sufficiency for answering questions using the given data and the knowledge of mathematics and use of day-to-day facts. 

TANCET Data Sufficiency section includes questions based on short problem sets which have sufficient or insufficient data to answer the questions. Each problem set is followed by two Statements. Candidate has to decide whether the data given in the statement-1 or statement-2 is sufficient to answer the question, insufficient to answer or both statements are to be used to answer. Almost all the questions are based on this pattern. This section is a mix of Data based questions as well as Logical Reasoning questions. 

Business communication section is generally the last section in TANCET exam and has 20% weightage in the exam. General English section in TANCET tests the knowledge on written English on correct use of Grammar, Sentence formation, appropriate use of vocabulary, phrases, idioms among others.  

To excel in this section, you must master “English Grammar and Usage,” focusing specifically on sentence correction, idioms and phrases, and cloze tests that simulate professional business communication.
