AP ICET 2026 Exam Analysis (OUT): Question Paper Review; Slot 1 & 2 Difficulty Level, Good Attempts

Andhra Pradesh Integrated Common Entrance Test (ICET) is a state-level MBA and MCA entrance examination conducted for admission to colleges in the state of Andhra Pradesh. AP ICET is conducted by Andhra University, Visakhapatnam on behalf of the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE). According to APSCHE, about 35,000 candidates appear for the exam. The computer-based test (CBT) is conducted in 25 districts across Andhra Pradesh in two slots. The scores of AP ICET is accepted by over 290 MBA and MCA colleges across Andhra Pradesh.

There was no change in AP ICET 2026 Exam Pattern, which was divided into three sections: Analytical Ability; Communication Ability Section, and Mathematics Section. Each section is further sub-divided into a few sub sections. AP ICET 2026 Analytical Ability Pattern had the maximum number of 75 questions. AP ICET 2026 Communication Ability Pattern has 70 questions. AP ICET 2026 Mathematical Ability Pattern had 55 questions only. AP ICET 2026 Slot 1 Analysis: Section-Wise Difficulty Level

The AP ICET 2025 question paper consisted of 200 questions to be answered in 150 minutes. AP ICET 2025 question paper was divided into three sections: Analytical Ability (75 questions); the Communication Ability Section (70 questions); and Mathematics Section (55 questions). Data Analysis:

In Slot 1, this section included three sets: the table-based set had four questions, while the sets based on the line graph and pie chart had three questions each.

In Slot 2, this section also had three sets: the set based on the double pie chart contained four questions, while the bar graph and line graph sets had three questions each.

Among all the sets, the double pie chart was considered to be calculation-intensive, whereas the line graph set in Slot 2, which was based on ratios, involved moderate-level calculations.

The other DI sets of the exam were easy to moderate.

Reasoning: (Problem-Solving, Coding-Decoding and Date, Time, and Arrangement)

There were 41 and 39 questions related to Problem-Solving (Reasoning) in shifts 1 and 2, respectively.

In shift 1, there were 23 questions based on Series, Analogies, and Odd Man Out. 11 on Series (9 on Number Series,2 on Letter Series) and 8 on Analogies (3 on Number Analogies, 4 on Letter Analogies, and 1 on Verbal Analogy).

In shift 2, 5 on Series (3 on Number Series, 1 on Letter Series, and 1 on Number and Letter Series) and 5 on Analogies (1 on Letter Analogy, 2 on Number Analogy, and 2 on Number and Letter Analogy)

There were 4 Odd Man Out questions in Shift 1 and 11 in Shift 2, most of which were based on verbal reasoning. The difficulty level of these questions ranged from easy to moderate.

There were 9 Coding-Decoding questions in Shift 1 and 10 in Shift 2; all were individual questions, with no set-based questions asked on this topic.

In both shifts, questions were asked from Clocks and Calendars, Blood Relations, Symbols and Notations, and Seating Arrangement (set-based). There were 9 questions in Shift 1 and 8 in Shift 2, all of which were easy.

The overall difficulty level of questions in both shifts was nearly the same, ranging from easy to moderate.

The English or communication ability section had 70 questions in each slot of the exam, of which 55 exclusively tested the contender’s skills in the standard use of the English language. Questions asked here assessed various aspects of vocabulary, functional grammar, and comprehension.

Reading Comprehension Questions

Each shift had four passages with five questions each. The passages in shift 1 were related to history (capitalism of printing in its early stages), sociology (climate change), narration (cemetery), and education (media literacy). The passages in Shift 2 were related to legal (common law and civil law), sociology (remote work), narration (Christmas tree), and business (rise of e-exports and gaming culture). The passages were easy to comprehend, and a well-prepared aspirant would have glided past them in very little time. The questions in this section can be rated as easy to moderate.

Functional Grammar Questions

Shift 1 had a total of eighteen questions, with twelve questions on filling in the blanks, one question each on speech and voice, and four questions on identifying the grammatically correct sentence. Shift 2 had a total of nineteen questions, with fifteen questions as filling in the blanks and two questions each on speech and voice. The questions in this section can be rated as easy in terms of difficulty level.

Vocabulary Questions

Shift 1 had seventeen questions, with ten as direct synonyms, antonyms, and one-word substitutes. This slot has a new question type, two questions—not a synonym, which was of easy difficulty level, and four as filling in the blanks. Shift 2 had sixteen questions, with eleven as synonyms, four as antonyms, and one as filling in the blanks. This slot has one new question type—identifying the synonym and antonym of the underlined word in each. Whittling down the choices through elimination would have helped an aspirant identify the correct answer.

The average easy score would be above 38 for both slots. A well-prepared aspirant would have easily scored around 45 in both slots.

Business Terminology Questions

In Shift 1, there were nine questions on business terminology in Shift 1, out of which around six were easy, two were moderate, and one was difficult. The question on enterprise software was a difficult one, and the questions on key financial statements and search engine optimization were moderate. The questions on thinking outside the box, minutes of the meeting, functions of HR, definition of a share, SWOT, and B2B were easy. Overall, it was an easy section.

In Shift 2, there were seven questions on business terminology in Shift 2, six of which were easy, and one was difficult. The question on SAP was difficult, whereas the questions on Unicorn, Market Segmentation, Memo, M&A, Minutes of the Meeting, and Target Market were easy. Overall, it was an easy section.

Computer Terminology Questions

In Shift 1, There were six questions on computers in the session. Questions on the full form of HTML, the full form of PDF, and hard disk were easy, whereas the questions on phishing, data warehouse, and open-source software were rated as moderate.

In Shift 2, There were eight questions on computers in the session. Questions on the full form of GUI, full form of HTTPS, full form of LAN, firewall, and CPU were easy. The question on the full form of SQL was moderate.

Overall, the questions on computer terminology were of an easy level in both shifts.

About 90% of the questions asked in this section were either easy or moderate. Most of the questions require conceptual understanding. Quite a few questions could be solved directly by using formulas. The questions from the topics based on arithmetic were easy.

In slot 1 in the Arithmetical Ability section, 16 questions are from algebraical and statistical ability questions.

Overall, the section on mathematical ability was easy to moderate.

Chapter-wise break-up of questions in Arithmetical Ability

About 85% of the questions asked in this section were moderate to difficult. This year, they were given a question based on 3D coordinate geometry (planes) and a question based on expected value in shift 1.

In shift 2, one question based on logical gates, one question based on the inverse of a 3 x 3 matrix, and one question based on continuity are given.
