ATMA Exam Day Guidelines 2026: Complete Instructions for July 12 Exam; Reporting Time, Documents, Dos and Don'ts

You are required to report 60 minutes before the exam starts, i.e., by 1:00 PM sharp. As per the official AIMS document, candidates must arrive at the test centre at least 60 minutes before the exam begins for biometric verification, document checking, and seat allocation. Mandatory Documents

1. ATMA 2026 Admit Card (printed, both pages) — downloadable from atmaaims.com from July 8, 2026.
2. ATMA 2026 Application Form (printed copy, with your photograph affixed).
3. Valid Government Photo ID Proof — any one of:
   • Aadhaar Card
   • PAN Card
   • Passport
   • Driving Licence
   • Voter ID Card
4. Two recent passport-size colour photographs (same as the one uploaded during registration).

Keep all documents in a transparent folder. Make two photocopies of your admit card and ID proof, one stays in your bag as back up, one in your wallet. If the original is misplaced en route, having a backup ID can save you at the gate.

Here is exactly what will happen between your arrival at the centre and the moment your test begins.

Step 1: Gate Entry and Verification (1:00 PM – 1:30 PM)
On reaching the centre, you will be directed to a registration desk. The invigilator will verify your admit card against the AIMS database, check your photo ID, and match your photograph. Carry all documents in hand; do not bury them in a backpack.

Step 2: Biometric Capture and Frisking
Most ATMA centres conduct biometric verification (thumb impression) and a basic security check. Avoid wearing metallic ornaments, watches with metal straps, or heavy jewellery, all of which slow down the frisking line.

Step 3: Seat Allocation and Computer Check
The invigilator will guide you to your allotted workstation, identified by your PID (Personal Identification Number). The allotted computer cannot be swapped. This is explicitly stated in the official AIMS document. If your machine has a technical fault, raise your hand immediately; an invigilator will assign you a backup terminal.

The following items are strictly prohibited inside the ATMA 2026 examination hall. Possession of any of these can lead to disqualification.

• Mobile phones, smartwatches, fitness bands, Bluetooth earphones, or any electronic device.
• Calculators of any kind (the ATMA test interface provides an on-screen calculator where required).
• Books, notes, study material, printed sheets, or rough paper (rough sheets are provided by the centre).
• Handbags, wallets, pouches, or any closed container.
• Food items, except a small transparent water bottle (subject to centre policy).
• Wristwatches with extra features, metallic jewellery, sunglasses, caps, or scarves not associated with religious observance.

Section Structure

The ATMA 2026 exam comprises 180 questions across 6 sections:

1. Analytical Reasoning Skills - I (30 questions, 30 minutes)
2. Verbal Skills - I (30 questions, 30 minutes)
3. Quantitative Skills - I (30 questions, 30 minutes)
4. Analytical Reasoning Skills - II (30 questions, 30 minutes)
5. Verbal Skills - II (30 questions, 30 minutes)

Per the official ATMA Bulletin 2026, the on-screen sequence may differ from the order above, the test interface may shuffle sections. Be prepared to attempt whichever section appears first.

Section-Level Time Lock

Each section has a fixed 30-minute window. You cannot return to a previous section once it ends, nor can you carry forward unused time. Plan accordingly:

• Spend a maximum of 55 seconds per question on average.
• Reserve 3-4 minutes at the end of each section for review and flagging.

Marking Scheme

• +1 mark for each correct answer.
• −0.25 mark for each incorrect answer.
• 0 marks for unattempted questions.

Rule of thumb: If you can eliminate 2 of 4 options confidently, the expected value of guessing is positive; if not, leave it blank.

Dos

• Reach the centre by 12:45 PM.
• Eat a light, familiar meal at home; avoid experimenting with food on exam day.
• Wear comfortable, layered clothing. Temperatures vary by centre.

Don'ts

• Do not leave home without your admit card and ID proof.
• Do not arrive later than 1:00 PM. Every minute past reporting time risks gate closure.
• Do not carry electronic devices into the hall, even switched off.
• Do not talk, gesture, or look at other candidates' screens — this is grounds for immediate disqualification.
• Do not panic on a single hard question. Mark it, move on, return only if time permits.
• Do not leave the exam hall before confirmation from supervisor.
