Prof. D. P. Goyal is an eminent academic leader, researcher, and author, boasting over 38 years of rich experience in teaching, research, and institutional leadership across India's top management institutions. He recently completed his tenure as the Director of IIM Shillong (2019–2025), where he spearheaded major initiatives in strengthening research, digital transformation, and industry engagement. His leadership journey also includes key roles at premier b-schools like MDI Gurgaon and IMT Ghaziabad, alongside significant international experience as a Visiting Professor at Aarhus University, Denmark, for nearly a decade.

A prolific scholar, Prof. Goyal has supervised 16 Ph.D. students and published over 65 research papers in reputed peer-reviewed and indexed journals. His professional excellence is underscored by multiple honours, including the Distinguished Alumni Award (2024), the Best B-School Director Award (2023) from Business World, and the Top Professor in IT Award (2010). Prof. Goyal holds an MBA from Punjabi University and a Ph.D. in MIS from Kurukshetra University, complemented by advanced training at prestigious institutions like IIM Ahmedabad and Harvard Business School, Boston.
