About LBSIM Delhi
LBSIM Delhi is named after Bharat Ratna Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri, India's second Prime Minister. The institute started in RK Puram in 1995 and moved in 2011 to its present campus in Sector 11, Dwarka, which the then President of India, Smt Pratibha Devisingh Patil, inaugurated. The campus sits next to the Dwarka Sector 11 Metro Station. Shri Anil Shastri, a former Union Minister, chairs the Board of Governors, and Prof. (Dr.) Praveen Gupta is the Director. LBSIM's teaching mixes classroom courses with compulsory field work: every PGDM student spends ten days on a Rural Immersion with NGOs and ten days on an Outbound Leadership Programme. A sister institution, the Lal Bahadur Shastri Institute of Technology and Management in Indore, runs a PGDM modelled on LBSIM, according to the institute. LBSIM also awards the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Award for Excellence, instituted in 2000.
