Common Admission Test (CAT) 2020, the mandatory entrance exam for admission to 20 IIMs, FMS Delhi, SPJIMR Mumbai, MDI Gurugram and hundreds of top ranked B-schools in India, will be conducted on November 29, 2020. CAT 2020 Convener IIM Indore is making all efforts to hold CAT 2020 exam as per previous year schedule. In a relief to MBA aspirants, no change in Testing Mode is expected. CAT 2020 Exam Date
During the last five years, CAT exam date has remained on the 3rd or last Sunday of November. The exam is held in two sessions -- morning slot and evening slot. CAT 2020 is expected to stick to this schedule.

Speaking to MBAUniverse.com, Dr Himanshu Rai, IIM Indore Director said, “CAT 2020 is currently being planned in the last week of November 2020” and added further, “we will conduct CAT-2020 successfully despite all the challenges.”

So, going by the past trends, you can expect CAT 2020 on November 29, 2020.

No Change in CAT 2020 Testing Mode expected
As is well known, CAT is a computer-based test. The CAT testing agency TCS makes elaborate arrangements in more than 155 cities to accommodate such a large number of single day test takers. Due to Covid-19 pandemic, CAT 2020 aspirants are worried whether CAT testing mode will change like GRE and GMAT exams, which have added an At-Home exams option. However, at this stage, IIM Indore does not propose to change the testing mode.

Allaying the fear of CAT 2020 aspirants, Prof Rai clarified, “The testing mode is planned to remain the same as of now.”

Of course, if there is any alarming development related to COVID 19, “The plans will be reviewed and modified, if required, at a later stage,” said Dr Rai.

CAT 2020 Exam Website: Live in August
CAT 2020 registration process will start on CAT 2020 official website after release of CAT exam notification. As per the past trends, CAT website goes live in the first week of August every year. This year too, IIM Indore plans to launch the CAT 2020 website in August to enable the candidate to check the complete CAT 2020 exam schedule, exam pattern and understand the registration process. This was confirmed by Dr Rai.

CAT registration process remains open for more than 45 days from August first week to September third week. The CAT 2020 registration window is also expected to remain open for about one and a half month.

Despite all the odds, IIM Indore is committed to conduct CAT 2020 in a safe environment. According to Dr Rai, “We will do our best to conduct CAT 2020 in a way that ensures your safety and well being while allowing you the opportunity to perform at your best.”
