The Post-Graduate Diploma in Banking & Financial Services (PGDM B& FS) at IMI New Delhi is a 2 years full time residential programme. The PGDM B&FS is designed to cater to the growing need of management professionals for banking and Financial Services industry. The objective of program is develop high quality management professionals equipped with technical and managerial competency with global mind set. The focus of program is to develop a holistic and integrative approach of management in banking and Financial Services industry. 

The program is Approved by AICTE, Accredited internationally by the prestigious U.K based Association of MBA’s (AMBA) and is affiliated with CFA Institute USA, under the University Affiliation Program (UAP)  
 

IMI New Delhi PGDM-BFS - Curriculum Highlights

IMI Delhi's two year Post Graduate Diploma in Management (Banking & Financial Services) is designed to cater to the growing needs of management professionals for Banking and Financial Services industry. The PGDM(B&FS) programs at IMI Delhi is of two years duration. IMI follows a trimester system and each program consists of six trimesters. Each trimester is of 11-12 weeks duration. Apart from the six trimesters students are required to undergo a compulsory Summer Internship Program (SIP) at the end of the first year.

The curriculum for the PGDM (Banking & Financial Services) program is spread over six trimesters and the programme structure comprises both compulsory as well as elective courses. Compulsory courses include basics in various functional areas including Marketing, Finance, Human Resources and Operations and also courses covering Banking & Financial Services. Electives focused purely on Banking & Financial Services are offered in the second year. Besides, it also includes courses like Economics, Statistics and Information Technology. The elective courses provide more focused specialization within the Banking & Financial Services domain. 

Summer Internship Program is mandatory after the completion of first year. On completion of the first year, all students are required to undergo a Summer Internship Program of 8 to 10 weeks duration.

The Pedagogy is a combination of lectures, case discussions, presentations, assignments and project work. The primary emphasis is on interactive and participative methods of learning.  Faculty members for all the programs are primarily in-house from the Institute but may also include adjunct or visiting faculty members.

IMI Delhi PGDM B&FS Admission eligibility criteria require:

  • Applicant must hold a minimum 3 years’ bachelor's degree recognized by AIU (Association of Indian Universities), with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA
  • A candidate appearing for the final year bachelor's degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed the degree requirements and are awaiting results are also eligible to apply.
  • Apart from a recognized graduate degree, another key point in IMI Delhi eligibility criteria is that the candidate should appear in CAT/XAT or GMAT (Taken during last three years) and must score the required cut off
  • Candidates with Foreign Nationality are also eligible, based on their GMAT scores, provided the score is not more than three years old.

IMI New Delhi PGDM-BFS - Scholarships

IMI Delhi offers Merit, Merit cum Means scholarships and tuition fee waivers to the students in its various PGDM programmes. Besides, for FPM programme, IMI offers fee waivers and scholarships to full time FPM students.

  • Tuition fee: 100% waiver of fee throughout the duration of program
  • Learning Resource fee: 100% waiver throughout the duration of program
  • Stipend: Eligible candidates will be awarded a stipend of INR 65,000/- per month. This stipend would be valid for four years from the date of joining the program
  • Contingency Grant: The scholars would be eligible for a total contingency grant of INR 90,000 (@ 30000/- per annum) during the tenure after the successful completion of the course work phase. This grant may be used to cover incidental expenses like data collection, stationery, hardware/software and others.
  • Conference support: The institute also provides a cumulative grant of INR 1,20,000/- for presenting research papers in domestic and international conferences. The conference needs to be fulfilling the conference norms as laid down by the institute
  • Additional conference support linked to research output: The scholar who publishes in superior quality Peer Reviewed Journals will get an additional conference support grant of INR 2,00,000/- for every such Peer Reviewed Journal publication (granted after the Final acceptance of the publication has been obtained).
