• Candidates must possess one of the following academic qualifications to apply for IIM Jammu’s doctoral program: A Master's Degree (Bachelor’s degree obtained in 10+2+3 pattern, followed by a master’s degree) or a 5-year Integrated Master’s Degree (obtained after completing higher secondary schooling in 10+2 pattern) in any discipline, with at least 60*# percent marks in the Bachelor’s as well as in the Master’s degree; Or A professional qualification like CA, ICWA, CS, with at least 50*# percent marks; Or A Five-year/four-year Integrated Master’s degree program in any discipline, with at least 60*# percent marks, obtained after completing higher secondary schooling (10+2) or equivalent; Or, A four-year/8 semester Bachelor's degree (10+2+4 pattern) with at least 6.5 CGPA  or equivalent marks. 
• Those who are appearing for their final year examination in the current academic year may also apply. 
• The applicant must have obtained a minimum of 50 percent marks in both secondary and higher secondary examination of a board or equivalent.
• Candidate must not be more than 40 years 
• Candidates who have appeared/are appearing for the CAT/GMAT/GRE/GATE/JRF during last three years are eligible to apply

• Candidates who fulfil the eligibility criteria are required to take Common Admission Test (CAT) held by the IIMs. Alternatively, those who have qualified GATE, GRE, GMAT, or NET/JRF (UGC/CSIR) examinations can also apply in the relevant area of specialization. Scores of any of these examinations, including CAT taken during the last three years should be valid on the deadline of submission of the application form. Admission to the program is open to overseas candidates, including NRIs and foreign nationals.
• Candidates who have already had two-year full-time MBA/PGP completed in the last ten years from IIMs with minimum grade point equivalent to 6.0 are exempted from the test score and can apply directly. 
• The candidates short-listed on the basis of their academic record and performance in the competitive examinations will be called to IIM Jammu for a personal interview for final selection 
• The respective area will decide the number of candidates to be called for PI on the basis of short-listed merit list prepared for each category and specialization
• The shortlisted candidate has to appear for a personal interview at IIM Jammu in front of the selection panel. The selection panel will assess the suitability of the candidates for research work based on the portfolio of the candidate. The committee will look into a consistently good academic record, professional accomplishments, research interest etc.
• Merit List will be prepared based on Personal Interview, Research Aptitude & Publications and Reference Letter, Academic Qualification and Relevant Work Experience. 
• Candidates who receive the admission offer from IIM Jammu and accept the offer within the stipulated date, needs to send the commitment fee. This will be later adjusted against caution money deposit refundable after adjusting dues, if any and the Alumni fee. 

The composite score calculated based on the weights given below will be used to prepare the final merit list for IIM Jamu PhD admission

• Apply online at https://www.iimj.ac.in/programs/doctoral-program/how-apply#. Application fee is Rs.1000 for General category and Rs.500 for Reserved category candidates. 
• A candidate can apply for maximum two specialization areas  
• Relevant Test Scores of CAT/GMAT/GRE/JRF should be valid on the deadlines of the submission of the application form
• Download the completed online application form and send a hard copy of the same along with the relevant supporting documents and the required Receipt of online payment through SPEED POST ONLY to Admission Office at IIM Jammu. 
• Required documents to be enclosed are Self-attested copies of Class X, XII, Graduation and Post-Graduation degrees; Self-attested copies of mark sheets or transcripts of grades obtained in Class X, XII, Graduation and Post-Graduation degrees; Transcripts in languages other than Hindi and English must be submitted along with certified translations; Percentage conversion certificate from College/University (In case of CGPA/CPA); Degrees must be recognised by UGC/AIU; Two references with their contact details and Email IDs from academicians who have taught the candidate or with whom the candidate has worked closely on scholarly work. However, the supervisor at work could write a reference, if the candidate has been away from the university for a long period; Self-attested Copies of Work Experience Certificate (if any); Self-attested Copies of Caste Certificate (if applicable); Self-attested Copies of DAP Certificate (if applicable); Self-attested Copies of EWS Certificate (if applicable)
