IMI Delhi PGDM Program Highlights

The two year Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) is the flagship program of IMI New Delhi. It prepares students for careers in industry, across functional areas. IMI Delhi PGDM program equips students with strong conceptual skills to manage businesses in an integrated manner. IMI New Delhi PGDM program develops versatile managers who are capable of handling responsibilities in different business domains. The program emphasis is on developing a holistic manager with a vision to take on the challenges of the future in a socially sensitive manner. IMI Delhi PGDM program duration is two years. IMI follows a trimester system and each program consists of six trimesters of 11-12 weeks duration. The academic calendar begins early July. IMI PGDM students are required to undergo a compulsory Summer Internship Program (SIP) at the end of the first year.

IMI Delhi PGDM Curriculum Highlights

IMI New Delhi PGDM programme curriculum is spread over two years and is divided in six trimesters. The first three trimesters are devoted to developing understanding of basic concepts across different functional areas to provide an integrated learning experience to the students. This covers Core Compulsory courses across different functional areas of management including Marketing, Finance and Accounting, OB and HR, Operations Management & Quantitative Techniques, Information Management, Economics, Strategy & General Management.

The first year also consists of Core Elective courses which a student can choose based on his/her choice of specialization. A minimum of two Core Elective courses have to be chosen by the student in the domains he wishes to specialize. The following courses are offered in the first year.

Though this program is a general management program student can choose elective courses in their stream of specialization in the second year from the areas of Marketing, Finance, Operations, Strategy, Information Systems, Analytics (minor specialization).

On completion of the first year, all students are required to undergo a Summer Internship Program of 8 to 10 weeks duration.

IMI Delhi PGDM Admission eligibility criteria require:

Applicant must hold a minimum 3 years’ bachelor's degree recognized by AIU (Association of Indian Universities), with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA
A candidate appearing for the final year bachelor's degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed the degree requirements and are awaiting results are also eligible to apply.
Apart from a recognized graduate degree, another key point in IMI Delhi eligibility criteria is that the candidate should appear in CAT or XAT or GMAT exams and must meet the required minimum cut offs.
Candidates with Foreign Nationality are also eligible, based on their GMAT scores.

IMI Delhi PGDM Scholarships

IMI Delhi offers merit, merit cum means scholarships and tuition fee waivers to the students in its various PGDM programmes.

Tuition fee: 100% waiver of fee throughout the duration of program
Learning Resource fee: 100% waiver throughout the duration of program
Stipend: Eligible candidates will be awarded a stipend of INR 65,000/- per month. This stipend would be valid for four years from the date of joining the program
Contingency Grant: The scholars would be eligible for a total contingency grant of INR 90,000 (@ 30000/- per annum) during the tenure after the successful completion of the course work phase. This grant may be used to cover incidental expenses like data collection, stationery, hardware/software and others.
Conference support: The institute also provides a cumulative grant of INR 1,20,000/- for presenting research papers in domestic and international conferences. The conference needs to be fulfilling the conference norms as laid down by the institute
Additional conference support linked to research output: The scholar who publishes in superior quality Peer Reviewed Journals will get an additional conference support grant of INR 2,00,000/- for every such Peer Reviewed Journal publication (granted after the Final acceptance of the publication has been obtained).

IMI Delhi PGDM Admission Process

IMI Delhi PGDM admission can be divided into following stages:

The candidates seeking admission to IMI New Delhi PGDM programme must appear in CAT 2025 or XAT 2026 entrance exams.
Then, candidate should apply separately for IMI Delhi admissions. IMI Delhi application process is open. Apply now. IMI Delhi last date to apply is December 12, 2025.
Shortlisting of candidates for the Personal Interview process will be done on the basis of the details provided in the IMI application form and their CAT/XAT exam scores.

The final selection of the candidates will be based on weightages of CAT scores, WAT-GD-PI, Behavioral Assessment test, Academic merit, Academic diversity, Work experience, and social diversity etc as per weightages given in Table below

IMI Delhi PGDM How to Apply

Here is a step-by-step guide to IMI Delhi application process.

Step 1 - Logon of IMI Website & Start Application Process: First step is to logon to IMI official website and start application process. After entering primary details and submitting OTP, the next step is to start filling the application form. This page will continue to be updated on completion of each step. Step 2 - Select IMI Campus: On this page you should choose IMI Delhi campus. If you wish to apply for IMI Kolkata and Bhubaneswar campuses also you need to select them also.

Step 3 - Fill Personal Details: The next step is to fill the source of information.

Step 4 - Fill Contact Details: On this page you need to fill your email id, mobile number permanent and correspondence address. Your e-mail id and mobile number should remain valid through the admission process

Step 5 - Fill Academic Qualifications: On this page you need to fill your educational qualifications from class 10 onwards and entrance exam details like CAT and XAT.

Step 6 - Fill Work Experience: On this page you should fill in your full time work experience earned after graduation.

Step 7 - Make Declaration: You need to fill Applicant name and date and click on the declaration. Without this the form will not be submitted

Step 8 - Make Payment: You need to make payment of IMI application fees of Rs. 2000 + GST for applying to IMI Delhi. Once the fees is submitted, your IMI Delhi Application process is complete.

Selection Process

The overall objective of IMI Selection Process is to identify and assess the candidate’s potential for a managerial career. Candidates who apply online for the IMI PGDM admission process will be shortlisted on the basis of CAT/XAT or GMAT score and previous academic performance records.

Only shortlisted candidates will be called for the final stage of the IMI Delhi selection process. IMI Individual Assessment Process includes Essay Writing and Personal Interview. IMI Individual Assessment Process will be held in January/February 2025 (tentative).

The core components of IMI selection process include past academic records, performance in the individual assessment process along with other qualitative parameters, like quality of work experience and extra-curricular activities. While IMI Delhi does not reveal exact weightages for different criteria, tentative weightages are given in table below.
