Bachelor's Degree of Three Years
You must have completed a Bachelor's degree of at least three years' duration in Arts, Science, Engineering, Commerce, Management or an equivalent field. Since the KMAT syllabus is based on 10+2 fundamentals, no candidate is tested on the subjects of their own degree.
Minimum Marks in Graduation
CEE does not prescribe a minimum percentage for appearing in KMAT. Candidates must instead have the minimum marks stipulated for MBA admission by the university to which they apply, so check the rules of each university you are targeting.
Final-Year Students
Candidates in the final year of their degree can take KMAT Kerala 2027, provided their results are declared before the MBA admission process begins. If your result may be delayed, keep this condition in mind.
There is no age limit for KMAT Kerala. The official documents state that there are no age restrictions, so working professionals and candidates who graduated several years ago can apply on the same terms as recent graduates.

KMAT Kerala is open to all Indian and non-Indian candidates, so you do not need to be from Kerala to take the exam. However, only Keralite candidates are eligible for any type of reservation or fee concession, so non-Keralite candidates cannot claim reservation or the reduced application fee. Proof of nationality and nativity is checked at the time of admission.

KMAT Kerala also had a second session last year, with exactly the same eligibility criteria as Session 1. The KMAT 2026 Session 2 notification, issued on 27 April 2026, repeated the same degree, age, nationality and final-year conditions, and the exam was held on 31 May 2026. If CEE follows the same schedule in 2027, the Session 2 notification is expected in late April 2027 and the exam in late May 2027.
