KMAT Kerala Exam Day Guidelines 2026: Complete Do's and Don'ts for Session II Exam on May 31, 2026

KMAT Kerala 2026 Session II is the second of the two-cycle Kerala Management Aptitude Test conducted by CEE Kerala for admission to MBA and PGDM programmes offered by over 80 participating institutions across the state, including University of Kerala, Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT), Mahatma Gandhi University, University of Calicut, and Kannur University-affiliated B-schools.

CEE Kerala has strictly advised candidates to report at the exam centre at least one hour before the scheduled exam start time printed on the admit card. Late entry will not be permitted under any circumstances, and no extra time will be granted to candidates who arrive late.

We recommend that aspirants:

• Reach the centre 60-75 minutes before the reporting time to complete biometric verification, document checks, and frisking smoothly.
• Pre-locate the exam centre one day in advance, especially if you are travelling from outside the host city.
• Factor in Sunday traffic patterns, public transport availability, and parking before estimating travel time.
• Carry a printed Google Maps route or note down the contact number of the centre as a back-up.

Candidates must carry the following documents on May 31, 2026, failing which they will not be allowed to enter the exam hall:

1. KMAT Kerala 2026 Admit Card – A clear, coloured printout downloaded from cee.kerala.gov.in. Soft copies on mobile phones are not accepted.
2. One valid original photo ID proof – Any one of the following issued by the Government of India:
   1. Aadhaar Card
   2. Passport
   3. Voter ID Card
   4. Driving Licence
   5. PAN Card
   6. College/Institute ID Card with photograph
3. Two recent passport-size photographs, identical to the one uploaded during registration.
4. Printout of the KMAT Kerala 2026 application form (recommended for record-keeping).
5. Category certificate, if applicable (SC/ST/OBC/PwD/EWS).

Candidates are permitted to carry only the following essentials inside the test centre:

• KMAT Kerala 2026 Admit Card (printed copy)
• Original photo ID proof
• Blue or black ballpoint pen
• Transparent water bottle 

Rough sheets for calculations will be provided inside the exam hall by the invigilator. Candidates must write their name and roll number on the rough sheet and return it to the invigilator after the exam.

The following items are banned from the exam hall. Any candidate found carrying these items will be disqualified and barred from the exam, as per CEE Kerala rules:

• Mobile phones, smartphones, smartwatches, fitness bands
• Calculators, log tables, slide rules, electronic pens
• Bluetooth devices, earphones, microphones, cameras
• Wristwatches (digital or analog) of any kind
• Books, notebooks, printed/written notes, study material
• Geometry box, pencils, erasers, sharpeners, scales
• Wallets, handbags, purses, pouches
• Eatables, snacks, chewing gum, beverages
• Any metallic items, ornaments, or jewellery 

1. Verify admit card details – Cross-check your name, roll number, photograph, exam centre address, and reporting time on the admit card the night before.
2. Pre-pack your documents – Keep the admit card, ID proof, photographs, and pen ready in a transparent folder the night before, not on the morning of the exam.
3. Sleep for at least 7–8 hours the night before. A speed-based exam like KMAT Kerala rewards a fresh, alert mind more than last-minute cramming.
4. Have a light, home-cooked breakfast – Avoid heavy, oily, or unfamiliar food that may cause discomfort during the 3-hour exam.
5. Wear comfortable, light clothing – Half-sleeve cotton attire and open footwear (slippers/sandals) are recommended. Avoid metal-studded clothing or accessories.
6. Reach the centre 60–90 minutes early to clear biometric and security checks without rush.
7. Read on-screen instructions carefully during the 10-minute pre-exam reading window. Note section-wise question distribution and navigation buttons.
8. Manage time across all four sections – With 180 questions in 180 minutes, allocate roughly equal time per section and revisit unattempted questions in the last 15 minutes.
9. Use the calculator-free strategy – Practise quick mental math for Quantitative Aptitude. Calculators are banned.
10. Stay calm and confident – Trust your preparation. If a question seems tough, mark it for review and move on.

1. Do not arrive late – Late entry is not permitted, and no compensatory time is granted.
2. Do not carry prohibited items to the centre. Even keeping a mobile in your bag outside the hall risks misplacement, as most centres do not provide lockers.
3. Do not bring soft-copy admit cards on your phone — only printed colour copies are accepted.
4. Do not engage in unfair means – Any malpractice, communication with other candidates, or use of unauthorised material will result in immediate disqualification and a possible ban from future exams.
5. Do not waste time on a single tough question – KMAT Kerala has no sectional time limit, but a single 4-mark question is not worth losing 5 productive minutes over.
6. Do not attempt blind guesses – With –1 negative marking on every wrong answer, attempt only those questions you are reasonably confident about.
7. Do not leave the seat without permission – No breaks are allowed during the 3-hour exam. Visit the washroom before entering the hall.
8. Do not skip reading the instructions – Ignoring on-screen instructions, in particular the navigation guide and review-and-submit process, can cost you valuable marks.

There is no sectional time limit — candidates can navigate freely across sections within the 3-hour window. Each correct answer earns +4 marks, and each incorrect answer attracts a penalty of –1 mark. Read more about KMAT Kerala exam pattern.

With just days to go, refrain from starting new topics. Instead:

• Revise formula sheets and shortcuts for QA, especially Arithmetic, Algebra, and Number System.
• Brush up on current affairs of the last 6 months (January–May 2026), with focus on Indian economy, business news, sports, and awards.
• Attempt 1–2 full-length mock tests in exam-like conditions (10:00 AM – 1:00 PM or as per your slot) to build stamina.
• Skim through grammar rules, idioms, and one-word substitutions for the English section.
• Review previous-year KMAT Kerala question papers to internalise question patterns.

The KMAT Kerala 2026 Session II result is expected to be released in the first week of June 2026 on cee.kerala.gov.in.
