Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) is the mandatory exam for MBA admission in XLRI Jamshedpur. XAT exam scores are also accepted by 250+ MBA colleges accepting XAT scores. Releasing official statement, Dr Shukla said: “XAT 2027 Registrations will open from 15th July 2026. Candidates should submit their application on Day 1 to get your 1st preferred test city and receive your test city confirmation by 5th August.” XAT 2027 registration last date is December 6, 2026. Required Documents for XAT Registration 2027
a) Personal Details:

• Email ID and mobile number.
• Date of Birth proof and Aadhaar card.
• Address proof.
• Category certificate (if applicable).

b) Academic Records:

• Class 10 mark sheet.

Candidates must adhere to the official XLRI guidelines for photographs and signatures, as detailed below:

a) Photograph Specifications

•    Photograph must be a recent passport size colour picture.
•    Ensure that the size of the scanned image should be within 1MB. If the size of the file is more than 1MB, then adjust the settings of the scanner such as the DPI resolution, no. of colours etc., during the process of scanning.
•    Look straight at the camera with a relaxed face.
•    If the picture is taken on a sunny day, have the sun behind you, or place yourself in the shade, so that you are not squinting and there are no harsh shadows.
•    If you have to use flash, ensure there's no "red-eye".
•    If you wear glasses make sure that there are no reflections and your eyes can be clearly seen.
•    Caps, hats and dark glasses are not acceptable. Religious headwear is allowed but it must not cover your face.

b) Signature Image Specifications

•    The applicant has to sign on white paper with Black Ink pen.
•    Ensure that the size of the scanned image should be within 1MB.
•    The signature must be signed only by the applicant and not by any other person.
•    The Signature will be used to put on the ADMIT CARD and wherever necessary.
•    The Applicant’s signature obtained on the ADMIT CARD and attendance sheet at the time of the examination should match the uploaded signature. In case of mismatch, the candidate may be disqualified.

c) Scanning and Uploading Photograph and Signature

Procedure for Scanning the Photograph and Signature is as below: 
•    Set the scanner resolution to a minimum of 200 dpi (dots per inch).
•    Set Colour to True Colour.
•    File Size as specified above.
•    Crop the image in the scanner to the edge of the photograph/signature, then use the upload editor to crop the image to the final size (as specified above).
•    The image file should be JPG, JPEG, PNG format. 
•    An example file name is: image01.jpg or image01.jpeg Image dimensions can be checked by listing the folder files or moving the mouse over the file image icon. 
•    Candidates using MS Windows/MS Office can easily obtain photo and signature in .jpeg format not exceeding 1MB by using MS Paint or MS Office Picture Manager. 
•    Scanned photograph and signature in any format can be saved in .jpg format by using 'Save As' option in the File menu and size can be reduced within 1MB (photograph & signature) by using crop and then resize option.

Procedure for Uploading the Photograph and Signature is as below: 
•    There will be two separate links for uploading Photograph and Signature.
•    Click on the respective link "Upload Photograph / Signature".
•    Browse & Select the location where the Scanned Photo/ Signature file has been saved.
•    Select the file by clicking on it.
•    Click on the "Upload" button.

XAT registration fees 2027 is increase to Rs. 2,300 from Rs 2,200 last year. You have to pay this XAT application form fees online during the XAT registration process. Step 2.1 
Enter the required information like your name, email id, phone number, select state and city in XAT 2027 sign up form. On this page you need to fill in following three items of information carefully:

• Your Work Experience beginning with latest work experience
• If you want to apply for XLRI Programme, fill in the choice of programmes, you wish to apply for.
• You can choose one or more programmes offered by XLRI. Note that application fee is Rs. 200 for each XLRI programme.  
• You can choose up to 6 preferred test cities to appear in XAT exam.

Applicants can select any six test cities from the dropdown menu based on their preferences. After the registration deadline, one of the six preferred test cities will be allotted, subject to availability.
