PGDM International Business

The Post Graduate Diploma in Management International Business at BIMTECH is full time 2 year duration residential programme divided in six trimesters. The PGDM IB has demonstrated its excellence in training future business leaders, with global entrepreneurial mindset. The programme has a well designed course content covering topics on general management and topics directly related to the understanding and management of international business. Care has been taken to ensure that it meets the changing industry expectations in providing the relevant knowledge.

Eminent persons, experts, senior practicing managers in various fields of international business are invited as guest faculty to deliver lectures as well as participate in panel discussions, seminars etc. on regular basis. Seminars on contemporary issues of international business are also regularly held. In majority of subjects there would be regular research based projects that the students have to do as assignments. These are considered essential with a view to inculcate the aptitude for research and innovation as well as to put the theoretical knowledge of the participants into practice.

In international business, knowledge of foreign language becomes a great competitive tool. Students are provided opportunity to undergo a two trimester foreign language course in languages such as German, French, Chinese etc. Besides, visits to sea ports, airports, dry ports and inland container depots are arranged to enable the students to have firsthand knowledge of the customs procedures and formalities, the details of export/import documentation, the procedures for cargo handling, warehousing, loading and shipment.

The programme offers major specializations in various areas of International Business including Marketing, Finance, Operations. PGDM IB also offers minor specializations in the areas of  Banking, Financial Services and Insurance (BFSI), IT/ITES Business Specialization, Data Analytics, Digital Business. 20% of the course almost in every subject is covered by industry expert. This ensures business practice is brought to class. Some courses are taught by faculty from abroad.

Students are encouraged to undertake Live Projects/ Short Term Projects from Term III and work on the real-life business problems. Students will compulsorily do a summer internship project with a company for a period of 10 to 12 weeks at the end of TRIMESTER III.

BIMTECH Admission Step by Step Process is as below:

Step-1: Apply for BIMTECH Admission & Appear in Entrance exam. BIMTECH accepts CAT, XAT, CMAT, GMAT score for its flagship PGDM and PGDM (IB) programmes. For PGDM (IBM) and PGDM (RM) programmes, CAT, XAT, CMAT, GMAT and MAT score are accepted

Step-2: BIMTECH conducts shortlisting process for admission in two phases. BIMTECH phase 1 application round is for profile based selection process which is conducted early even before the CAT/XAT/CMAT/GMAT/MAT result is declared. Only the candidates who apply early for BIMTECH PGDM Admission are shortlisted for the profile based selection process. The phase-2 is the regular exam based shortlisting process

Step-3: BIMTECH will conduct Personal Interview for shortlisted candidates. In the personal interview candidates are assessed mainly on competencies in Teamwork and Leadership Potential; Innovation, Creativity & Entrepreneurial Mind-set; Energy & Enthusiasm, Interpersonal Skill, Poise & Maturity

Step-4: After PI round, final selection list is prepared based on the weightages judiciously divided to entrance exam score; Academics; Work Experience; Personal Interview; Gender Diversity; to students from specified regions and to Minority candidates.
