PGDM Insurance Business Management

BIMTECH Post Graduate Diploma in Management Insurance Business Management (PGDM IBM) is the 2 years full time management programme with MBA equivalence from Association of Indian Universities. On completion of the PGDM-IBM programme student will be awarded Post Graduate Diploma in Management in Insurance Business Management. It is a 121 credit program. The PGDM Insurance Business Management (IBM) was introduced in the year 2000, and it coincided with the opening up of the insurance industry for private competition. The avowed objective of the program of Insurance Business Management (IBM) of BIMTECH is to turn out Insurance Management Professionals who are industry-ready.

The Post Graduate Diploma in Management Insurance Business Management (PGDM IBM) at BIMTECH is full time 2 year duration residential programme divided in six trimesters. 

BIMTECH offers cutting-edge curricula. Among the recently introduced changes in PGDM IBM curriculum are courses on Insurtech, Insurance Analytics, Advanced Risk Management (including Enterprise Risk Management), and advanced Health Insurance. This is besides the conventional insurance subjects both in life, non-life, health, and reinsurance. The course is spread over six trimesters with a two-months summer internship assignment between the first and second year. Besides, students are taught the Elements of Actuarial Science, Marketing, Finance, CRM, OB & HR, and Personal Financial Planning (Wealth Management). Rounding off the personality traits of students is accomplished by focused training in soft skills, corporate visits, and industry-based projects.

The PGDM IBM program runs a Joint Certification in Reinsurance with Swiss Re (GBS). BIMTECH also has Campus connect Programme with Xceedance & RMS Moody. PGDM (Insurance Business) program has got credit for Prior Learning /Accreditation by the Insurance Institute of India (III), Mumbai. A similar kind of credit for prior learning recognition is also in place with Chartered Insurance Institute-UK. BIMTECH students get the eligibility of Diploma in Insurance status from CII-UK after completing the course, subject to having passed one mandatory “Insurance Law” course of CII-UK.

BIMTECH Admission Step by Step Process is as below:

Step-1: Apply for BIMTECH Admission & Appear in Entrance exam. BIMTECH accepts CAT, XAT, CMAT, GMAT, MAT score for its PGDM (IBM) and PGDM (RM) programmes

Step-2: BIMTECH conducts shortlisting process for admission in two phases. BIMTECH phase 1 application round is for profile based selection process which is conducted early even before the CAT/XAT/CMAT/GMAT/MAT result is declared. Only the candidates who apply early for BIMTECH PGDM Admission are shortlisted for the profile based selection process. The phase-2 is the regular exam based shortlisting process

Step-3: BIMTECH will conduct Personal Interview for shortlisted candidates. In the personal interview candidates are assessed mainly on competencies in Teamwork and Leadership Potential; Innovation, Creativity & Entrepreneurial Mind-set; Energy & Enthusiasm, Interpersonal Skill, Poise & Maturity

Step-4: After PI round, final selection list is prepared based on the weightages judiciously divided to entrance exam score; Academics; Work Experience; Personal Interview; Gender Diversity; to students from specified regions and to Minority candidates.
