Master of Business Administration (MBA)

The Postgraduate Programme in Management at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ranchi offers a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree. It has been the flagship programme of the institute since its inception. Currently, IIM Ranchi admits around 250 to 260 students per year through Common Admission Test (CAT), followed by personal interviews. The programme facilitates learning in theory and practice of different functional management areas. It is carefully designed based on inputs from key stakeholders, including students, alums, industry experts, and faculty. The programme also provides opportunities for students to develop their communication, leadership, interpersonal and networking skills which are critical in today’s competitive and dynamic business environment.

The Postgraduate management programme is full-time residential. It is divided into six terms, spread over two years. The programme’s first year enables students to develop a fundamental understanding of different management areas. The second year comprises specialised elective courses from various management areas over three terms. The students must compulsorily complete a summer internship project for eight weeks between the first and second years. Students who want to acquire a deeper understanding of any topic or explore a topic in depth can also pursue a course of independent study under the guidance of a faculty member.

Application process for admission at IIM Ranchi opens with the start of CAT  registration process. Candidates have to apply for CAT by the last date. There is no need to apply and pay separately for IIM Ranchi Admission

Admission/Selection Process for Candidates for MBA at IIM Ranchi is through CAT. The selection of the candidates for admission to the PGP at IIM Ranchi is a two-step process.

Register and apply for CAT exam by paying the requisite application fee for the exam. On the page 4 of CAT application form, you need to select IIM Ranchi MBA and other programs and select the interview city. Your application for IIM Ranchi admission is submitted. You do not need to apply and pay separately for IIM Ranchi Admission. After declaration of CAT exam result, you can check at IIM Ranchi as well as IIM CAP website whether you are shortlisted by entering your CAT registration ID and password
