Master of Business Administration Business Analytics (PGPBA)

The Postgraduate programme in Business Analytics at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ranchi offers a Master of Business Administration – Business Analytics (MBA-BA) degree. The students are admitted through Common Admission Test (CAT), followed by personal interviews. The programme aims to prepare students for careers that apply and manage modern data science for addressing real-life problems. It has been designed to impart in-depth knowledge on modelling business scenarios and using the tools and techniques of analytics to make the participants capable of playing a leading role in the evolving analytics field. It is structured around analytical tools and methods to identify patterns, gain insights, develop business strategies and make sound management decisions.

The Postgraduate programme in Business Analytics is full-time residential. It is divided into six terms, spread over two years. The programme’s first-year coursework of the postgraduate programme in business analytics will have several courses in common with the regular postgraduate management programme, along with core courses in analytics. The second year comprises specialised elective courses focussed on specific business analytics tools and domain applications, spread over three terms. The students must compulsorily complete a summer internship project in analytics applications in industry for eight weeks. Students who want to acquire a deeper understanding of any topic or explore a topic in depth can also pursue a course of independent study under the guidance of a faculty member.

A minimum of 18 credits have to be obtained in the 2nd Year from IS & BA Area, out of which at least 3 credits have to be obtained every term.

Application process for admission at IIM Ranchi opens with the start of CAT  registration process. Candidates have to apply for CAT by the last date. There is no need to apply and pay separately for IIM Ranchi Admission

Admission/Selection Process for Candidates for MBA- Business Analytics at IIM Ranchi is through CAT. The selection of the candidates for admission to the MBA-BA at IIM Ranchi is a two-step process. 

Register and apply for CAT exam by paying the requisite application fee for the exam. On the page 4 of CAT application form, you need to select IIM Ranchi MBA-BA and other programs and select the interview city. Your application for IIM Ranchi admission is submitted. You do not need to apply and pay separately for IIM Ranchi Admission. After declaration of CAT exam result, you can check at IIM Ranchi as well as IIM CAP website whether you are shortlisted by entering your CAT registration ID and password
