IIM Bodhgaya admission criteria 2021 is based on CAT 2020 score and performance in PI-WAT round. IIM Bodhgaya, mentored by IIM Calcutta, has CAT cut off at 90 percentile and its final selection round is based on Common Admission Process (CAP) 2021 to be conducted for new IIMs in the months of February/March 2021. IIM Bodhgaya, one of the newest IIMs in the family of 20 IIMs, is mentored by IIM Calcutta. Starting with a sanctioned intake of 60 students, present intake at IIM Bodhgaya has gone up to 150+ students. With more candidates showing interest to take admission in IIM Bodhgaya, intake in the MBA 2021-23 batch is expected to go up further. Although IIM Bodhgaya Admission Criteria 2021 is yet to be announced, no change is expected from the last year IIM Bodhgaya admission criteria.

IIM Bodhgaya to Award MBA instead of PGDM
Instead of awarding diploma, IIM Bodhgaya awards MBA degree to the students of its 2 year flagship Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGP). The 2 years Post Graduate Programme (PGP) at IIM Bodhgaya has equivalence with Master’s degree of an Indian University for the purpose of admission to higher studies.

IIM Bodhgaya MBA Programme equips a student for an industry and services led career in the global environment. The programme impedes theoretical and practical erudition of different functional areas of Management endowing the students with an overall approach to management functions and managerial skills.

While IIM Bodhgaya awards  high importance to CAT score in shortlisting the candidates for PI-WAT round, the final merit list is prepared with a weightage of 40% to CAT exam score and rest to performance in PI round and profile of the candidate.

The basic objective of IIM Bodh Gaya admission process is to identify meritorious candidates for admission under each category of admission. While merit remains the primary consideration, the institute has observed a skewed student structure in favour of male gender and engineering and related courses at bachelors. To ensure a better balance in opportunities among different subjects and genders, IIM Bodh Gaya recognizes academic merit consistency and experience.

IIM Bodhgaya PGP Programme Design
The programme is designed to enhance students with a strong awareness and knowledge about the socio-economic environment both at national and global level. The objective is to bring into being a Global Manager not only with strong analytical and decision making skills but an overall personality with socially enviable values and ethics. IIM Bodhgaya Placement report 2020 for its 4thPGP batch 2018-20, shares that the average salary has gone up at Rs.11.02 LPA in 2020 from Rs.10.90 LPA last year while the highest salary has gone up to Rs.20 LPA in 2020 from Rs.16 LPA last year, narrowing the gap between average and highest salary packages. IIM Bodhgaya Admission through CAP 2021
IIM Bodhgaya participates in Common Admission Process (CAP), conducted for admission to new IIMs. Last year 9 IIMs participated in the process.  CAP is the PI-WAT round for the new IIMs and the score obtained in CAP determines the admission prospects of the applicant. 

Admission to the MBA Programme at IIM Bodhgaya for the year 2021-23 batch shall constitute the following parameters under Common Admission Process (CAP):

  • CAT 2020 Examination valid CAT score, as applicable
  • Common eligibility criteria for shortlisting to WAT and PI process: IIM Bodhgaya shall have the same shortlisting criteria as that of all other participating IIMs for CAP-2021 (Except for Supernumerary seats for Girl students)
  • Personal Assessment (PA) Process: Written Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview, as per the IIM Bodhgaya shortlisting criteria
  • Announcement of the final selection/merit list on the basis of the composite score arrived at using weightages as per valid CAT-2020 score, WAT and PI score, academic profile, work experience and diversity (gender/academic disciplines)

The two-year, full-time, residential programme PGP 2020-22 at Indian Institute of management (IIM) Bodhgaya is designed to develop leaders and entrepreneurs who can perform globally to make a valuable difference to the Society and the Corporate world.

IIM Bodhgaya Eligibility Criteria for Admission 2021

  1. IIM Bodhgaya eligibility criteria for admission 2021 require that the candidate must hold a bachelor's degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA (in case of the candidate belonging to SC/ST/PwD category, the eligibility criterion is relaxed to 45%
  2. The candidate should appear in CAT 2020 exam and must score minimum prescribed sectional and overall score to become eligible as per IIM Bodhgaya admission criteria
  3. If the candidate is awarded grades/CGPA instead of marks, the equivalence to determine IIM Bodhgaya admission eligibility would be based on the equivalence certified by the institution/university from where the bachelor's degree is obtained. In case the institution/university does not have any scheme for converting the CGPA into equivalent marks, the equivalence would be established by IIM Bodhgaya by dividing the obtained CGPA by the maximum possible CGPA and multiplying the resultant by 100 to confirm the Admission eligibility of the candidate. 
  4. A candidate appearing for the final year bachelor's degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed the degree requirements and are awaiting results is also eligible to apply for IIM Bodhgaya Admission 2021. Such a candidate must produce a certificate from the principal/head of the department/ registrar/director of the institution/university certifying that the candidate is currently in the final year or is awaiting final results and has obtained at least 50% marks or equivalent (45% in case of the candidate belonging to SC/ST/PwD category) based on latest available grades/marks.
  5. IIM Bodhgaya Eligibility criterion further clarifies that such a candidate, if selected, will become ineligible for the IIM Bodhgaya admission unless he/she submits a certificate latest by June 30, 2021 from the principal/head of the department/ registrar/ director of the institution/university (issued on or before June 30, 2021) stating that they have completed all the requirements (the result may, however, be awaited) for obtaining the bachelor's degree/equivalent qualification on the date of issue of the certificate.
  6. It is mandatory for a final year student, who is provisionally considered eligible by IIM Bodhgaya and offered admission, to submit the mark-sheet and degree certificate of the final year bachelor's degree examination held on or before June 30, 2021.  The deadline to submit the mark-sheet and the certificate is December 31, 2021. 

IIM Bodhgaya Admission Criteria
IIM Bodhgaya Admission Criteria 2021 is a 3 step process after CAT 2020 Exam. The three steps in admission process include:

  1. IIM Bodhgaya  Pre shortlisting criteria
  2. IIM Bodhgaya Shortlisting criteria for PI-WAT
  3. IIM Bodhgaya Final admission Criteria comprising PI-WAT through CAP 2021 with only 40% weightage to CAT 2020 score.

IIM Bodhgaya Pre-Shortlisting Criteria

  • In the first phase, all eligible candidates who have appeared for CAT 2020 and have applied for IIM Bodhgaya admission 2021 are considered in IIM Bodhgaya shortlisting criteria
  • Consideration in IIM Bodhgaya shortlist of candidates is based on securing minimum section-wise and aggregate percentile scores in CAT 2020 exam
  • Not only IIM Bodhgaya shortlisting but also all the CAP participating IIMs have common shortlisting criteria which will be done by CAP coordinating IIM
  • Candidates obtaining a positive (greater than zero) raw score in all sections of CAT-2020 will only be considered in IIM Bodhgaya Shortlisting criteria
  • All the subsequent processing, standardization and selection is limited to candidates belonging to this first shortlist alone. Accordingly, only CAT 2020 score is used as the basis for arriving at the IIM Bodhgaya shortlist for PI-WAT round
  • Candidates who qualify at this stage will be asked to reconfirm their interest for admission to PGP 2021-23 of IIM Bodhgaya sometime in the month of April 2021
  • IIM Bodhgaya will send e-mail to all candidates who have applied to IIM Bodhgaya and also meet the minimum CAT 2020 percentile requirements around third week of April 2021.
  • The E-mail will have a link to a web page where the candidates must reconfirm, by a stipulated date, their interest to pursue their candidature further, for admission to PGP 2021 at IIM Bodhgaya

IIM Bodhgaya Shortlisting Criteria for PI-WAT

  • Only those candidates who meet the minimum CAT 2020 percentile requirements for admission to PGP 2021-23 batch will be considered in IIM Bodhgaya shortlisting criteria for CAP round 2021
  • These candidates have to reconfirm their interest by the stipulated date
  • After found eligible in IIM Bodhgaya shortlisting criteria, these candidates have to participate in final admission PI-WAT round

IIM Bodhgaya Cut Offs: May Reduce in Shortlisting
IIM Bodhgaya's Admission Committee will decide the number of candidates who would be called for Personal Assessment (PA) process on the basis of criteria prepared for each category. However, if the actual number of short-listed candidates were found to be less than the required number of candidates to be called for WAT & PI category-wise, then the overall as well as section-wise minimum score would be reduced to get the desired number of candidates.

IIM Bodhgaya Final Admission Selection Round Criteria

  • All the shortlisted candidates are eligible to participate in Final selection CAP round for admission to IIM Bodhgaya
  • The candidates who are shortlisted and interviewed by any one or more of the IIMs at Bangalore, Calcutta, Indore, Kozhikode, Lucknow (only for their PGP/PGPM programs), will not be required to appear for the CAP round. For these candidates, their Personal Interview (PI) / Written Ability Test (WAT) scores from the above IIMs will be used to derive their PI /WAT scores for IIM Bodhgaya
  • Candidates who are not shortlisted and interviewed by any of the IIMs at Bangalore, Calcutta, Indore, Kozhikode, Lucknow (only for their PGP/PGPM programs) will be required to appear for a Personal Interview (PI) / Written Ability Test (WAT) conducted as Common Admission Process by IIMs.

IIM Bodhgaya Admission Process
IIM Bodhgaya admission process has four steps:

  • Appearing in CAT Exam
  • Short listing candidates for Personal Appearance (PA) process.
  • Conducting the PA process. PA process is composed of Written Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI) and will be common to all the participating IIMs
  • Preparing the Merit List based on CAT score, WAT & PI score and Profile score as per the assigned weightage

Step 1: The candidate must have appeared and scored the minimum required sectional and overall percentile in CAT 2020 to be considered for first stage screening process for admission at IIM Bodhgaya

Step 2: Candidates are short-listed for CAP round comprising Personal Interview (PI) and Written Ability Test (WAT) from among the candidates who have a valid CAT-2020 score and who have applied for IIM Bodhgaya Admission

Step 3: Shortlisting process from the pool of the candidates will be done by CAP 2021 coordinating IIM.

Step 4: After the CAP round, admission offers are made by IIM Bodhgaya to successful candidates who have reconfirmed interest to IIM Bodhgaya. The final selection is based on a diverse set of attributes which includes performance in WAT & PI, Performance in past academics, Performance in CAT 2020, Quality of Work Experience among others

Step 5: Final Admission Offer will be made in May 2021 on the basis of Final Score arrived after awarding the weightage scores on all the components. The academic session as IIM Bodhgaya begins in July 2021.

IIM Bodhgaya is mentored by Indian Institute of Management Calcutta. During the mentorship period and while IIM Gaya’s own faculty are recruited, faculty members from IIM Calcutta are delivering courses at IIM Bodhgaya. The overall design, quality and delivery of PGP is of the standards and with direct involvement of IIM Calcutta

The classes of IIM Bodhgaya are conducted in the transit campus of the Magadh University’s Directorate of Distance Education (DDE) building. 90 hostel rooms at IIM Bodhgaya have been provided for accommodation.
